1. What is the topic of this text? How do you know? The topic of this text is hurricanes and natural
disasters. I know because the text mainly talks and focuses on hurricanes and how the form. It
talks about the wind speeds and the damage they can easily make. I know that it is about
hurricanes because through out the whole three paragraphs, that’s all it talks about.
2. What is the intent of the author?
to inform about natural disasters such as volcanoes, tornadoes, and hurricanes
