Thank you for your support today of the American Red Cross! On
behalf of HOSA, Mrs. Hanson, and the Senior Deans Council, we
appreciate your donations to the American Red Cross. Thanks for
donating the gift of life.....our Eagle family rocks!
Senior Order Day will be held TOMORROW January 23
(12:00 – 3:40pm). Students will be expected to purchase their caps/gowns
(REQUIRED) on this day and have the option of taking cap/gown pictures (OPTIONAL)
and ordering Class of 2015 memorabilia (OPTIONAL). Cap and gowns are $21.35 total
which must be paid at the time of the order. Career Center students will be excused from
their classes during this time frame. Guys should wear shirts and ties, girls please wear
something WITHOUT a collar! The cap and gown for photos will be provided. You may
also order everything online at www.jostens.com; however all cap and gowns MUST be ordered
by midnight Friday night, or the price will go up to $75. This info was given out in the senior
meetings! *Contact Mrs. Hubbard with questions about Senior Order Day* All seniors
are EXPECTED to be in 1st and 2nd period on this day!
Senior Crosby Scholars: Community Service hours are due to Crosby Office
by January 31st.

Services web page. Lots of opportunities are available and enrichment often
makes the difference for scholarship opportunities in the future!
Attention 9th graders: the Finance Academy is now accepting
applications! Apply by TOMORROW, Friday, Jan. 23. Click on the link for more

*** The January 14th ice day will be made up Monday, February 16 and it will be
an “A” day!
Teacher Cadet applications are available in 1108 from Mrs. Wallace. Teacher
Cadet has both an Honors and Standard section, and is a course designed for
those who are interested in any field in education: teaching, School Psychologist,
Speech Pathologist, Administration, Guidance Counseling, etc. There are selected
spots for students interested in careers working with children: Youth ministry,
Pediatrics, etc. The course is available to rising Junior and Seniors only.
Applications are due by February 20th, so come pick one up today!
FCCLA T-Shirt Money ($19.20) Deadline has been extended to Fri 1/30. Please
give money to Ms.Hegstrom or President Emily Wong. Checks can be made out to
EFHS.
Want to write for the school newspaper next year? Pick up an application in
Room 1110 and turn in to Ms. Messiano by February 20th!
JROTC Drill Team members we will have practice on Saturday, Jan. 24th from 4 to
6 in the old gym.
Class of 2015…Cap/Gown, Graduation Announcements, and Class of 2015
Memorabilia can be ordered online NOW through January 23 via
www.jostens.com. Families who do not wish to order online can purchase items
on January 23 – Senior Order Day (12:00 – 3:40pm). Contact Jostens at (800)
Jostens to place orders via phone or with any questions about items available. All
Seniors participating in graduation ceremony are REQUIRED to purchase a
cap/gown – no student will be allowed to use a sibling’s cap/gown from previous
graduation ceremony. A parent memo is attached for more information.
CLASS OF 2015 GRADUATION – SAT. JUNE 6 AT 12 NOON
Make sure to hold on to your special graduation ceremony on DVD! Pick up an
order form from guidance, go online to www.newbeginningsvp.com, or call
336.681.2905. You can also email dsvideo2905@yahoo.com if you have any
questions. DVD’S will be recorded and available immediately following the
ceremony in the lobby of the coliseum! Cost is $20 and a portion of the proceeds
will be donated back to East Forsyth!
Scholarship Spotlight

The East Forsyth Athletic Booster Club is once again proud to
offer $750.00 individual scholarships to four (4) 2015 East Forsyth graduating
senior athletes. To be eligible, athletes must have participated in a varsity sport
recognized by the NCHS Athletic Association during the 2014 – 2015 calendar
year and must also be a member of the 2014-2015 EFHS Athletic Booster Club as
of March 9, 2015.
Scholarship applications are available in the Guidance office. All
completed applications must be returned to the guidance office by April 17, 2015
to be included in the selection process. If you have any questions concerning being
a current member or becoming a member please contact Kevin Bugg at

No’bacco Club meeting is CANCELLED today.
Science Olympiad will meet in Room 1007 at 3:45pm. We will also meet ALL Tuesday and
Thursday afternoons in January and February to prepare for the competition on Sat. Feb. 28.
Eagle's Nest Book Club will meet at 3:50 pm in room 508 to discuss "1984."
Friday, January 23
Anime Club will meet in the Media Center from 3:45-4:30 pm.
HOSA will have a meeting for anyone wanting to run for an office next year at
8:30am in Pod 25.
Monday, January 26
Latino Achievers will meet at 9:00am in the Media Center. Please pick up your pass
from Mrs. Martin in Room 702.
Social Studies Honor Society will meet in Room 408 at 3:45pm and don't forget about
the New Year's Social. Bring the goodies you signed up for!
Tuesday, January 27
Junior Civitans will meet at 3:45pm in Room 502.
Social Studies Academic Team will practice in Room 606 at 3:45pm.
French Club will meet in Room 1101 at 3:45pm.
Wednesday, January 28
Spanish Honor Society will meet in Room 1107 at 3:45pm. The makeup meeting will
be on Friday, Jan. 30th at 8:30am. Five service hours for first semester are due by the
30th. The hours MUST be confirmed by an adult.
Saturday, February 28
SAT: Strategies for Success Workshop, sponsored by the EFHS PTSA
8:30am-1:30pm in the Media Center…see the attached flyer for more info and to sign
up!
Need help in Math? Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society) runs a peer tutoring program in
Room 307 on Tuesday/Thursday afternoons from 3:45-4:15pm and Wednesday mornings from
8:15-8:45am. They can help all levels of math and no appointment is necessary!
Are you having trouble in Spanish? The Spanish Honor Society is here to help! We
offer tutoring sessions in Room 1107 on Tuesday mornings from 8:15-8:45am and
Thursday afternoons from 3:45-4:15 pm.
Guidance Information
WSFCS Career Center Open House will be held on January 29 from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Learn
about courses offered and profile of a successful Career Center student.
WSFCS Financial Aid Workshops will be held January 22 at the Administrative Center
Auditorium at 6 PM. This is a great opportunity for families to hear detailed instructions about
completing the FAFSA. Make plans to attend one of these sessions so your questions can be
answered about paying for your college education.
Women’s lacrosse workouts will start Wednesday, January 21 at 3:50pm in the stadium. This
is open to any girl who wishes to tryout for lacrosse. If you are planning on attending, bring
your updated physical, cleats and running shoes, and dress appropriately for the weather! Please
don’t be late….start time promptly at 3:50!
