JROTC Brigade Review, 7 May, 6:30 PM, North Forsyth High School stadium
It is once again time to "wrap up" the school year with the annual JROTC Brigade
Review. The parents, guardians, families, loved ones and teachers of cadets are
invited to come out and see their cadets parade by during the review. As in years
past, we are hoping that every single cadet will take part as we lead the rest of
the school district's cadets through the ceremony. Hope to see you there and
thank you for your support.
Thespians and Intended Thespians can begin picking up and filling out your
Thespian Point rosters beginning on Friday, May 1st. ALL FORMS ARE
DUE TO MISS BURGESS BY Wednesday, May 6th. If you do not turn in your
roster form NO POINTS will be allocated to you for your work this season.
The End of Year Talon Theatrical Company and Thespian
Induction Banquet will be held on Friday, May 29th, 2015 at 6:30 PM in the
EFHS Auditorium. Cost for banquet only $5. Cost for banquet and heavy
hors'd'oeuvre will be $12. All money and reservations for the banquet must
be received by Tuesday, May 26th. CASH ONLY!!!! Paid Drama Club
Members, Thespians, intended Thespians, and participants in any Talon Theatrical
Company Mainstage show are invited to attend the banquet.
DATE AUCTION is May 16th! Tshirts are on sale through Mrs. Hilton in Room 506
or Mrs. Cresimore in Pod 23.
Any senior who has taken Apparel 2 and wants to apply for a scholarship please
see Mrs. Carrigan in room 706 by Tuesday May 5.
STUDENTS: Please return all library books by May 22nd. MAY 22nd is
the last day for checking out or checking in books! On days the media
center is closed for testing, we will have a RETURN BIN available
outside the door to return books!

The 2015 Men’s Soccer interest meeting will be in Room 401 at 3:45pm. Please
be on time. The meeting is MANDATORY if you want to try out in the fall and
will last from 20-30 minutes!

Attention Senior and Junior Girls: Powder Puff player sign ups will be

form in order to play.
Hey guys! Make your Mom happy. Take her to the first ever EFHS Mom
Prom! The prom is Friday night, May 8th! Get your ticket from Mrs. Whitney in
Room 303, Ms. Shropshire in the office, or any cheerleader. They’ll love it better
than flowers.
Eaglette Dance Team Tryouts will be held May 19th through May 21st
at 4:00 in the New Gym. Tryout Packets are available in the Main
Office cubbies or Miss Burgess's office in the 100 building.
East Side Crew tryouts will be May 18th & 19th from 4-6pm and
May 20th from 4-7pm. See Mrs. Swaim in the dance room for
more information!
Colorguard (Flag Team) tryout packets are available in
Room 302 or or in the main office cubbies. Tryouts are May 18-21
from 4:00-6:00pm in the old gym.
Reminder to all juniors and seniors: You MAY NOT sit in your cars to eat
lunch or at any time during the day. The parking lots are off limits once you
have exited your vehicles and come on campus.
SOPHOMORES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DRIVE AND PARK ON THE
CAMPUS OF EFHS. Parking on campus is a privilege reserved for juniors
and seniors who purchase a valid East Forsyth parking sticker. Remember
upperclassmen…if you purchase a day pass and give it to a sophomore, YOU RUN
THE RISK OF LOSING YOUR PARKING STICKER!
IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION: If you park in a handicapped parking
space without a valid placard, you will be towed and fined $250.00. You will also
be towed if you park in the grass or the medians starting tomorrow. Everyone
must park in designated parking spaces on campus.
Attention EFHS Class of 2015 Parents!
The Senior Picnic for members of the Class of 2015 will be held on Tuesday,
May 19th. The picnic committee is currently accepting donations from parents
and businesses to assist with the cost of the picnic. Your contributions will
determine its’ success! $10 per Senior is suggested amount to give. Any donation
you are able to make is greatly needed. Please forward any checks made payable
to EFHS to the attention of Sandra Shropshire in the main office. Please note
‘Senior picnic’ in the memo portion of your check. If you’d like to volunteer to

Relay for Life Announcements:
Relay for Life 2015 will be held Friday, June 5th at the East Forsyth High School
Track! We’re bringing it back home! Get your teams and ideas
ready! Luminaries are only $5.00 this year! If you’d like to honor or remember a
loved one, please open and fill out the form attached to this email. Drop off your
money and form to the main office or to Mrs. Valdes, then come out on Friday
night June 5th to see your luminary lit up at Relay!

Summer of 2016? An interest meeting for students and parents will be
held in the Media Center, May 11th at 7:00p.m.
Need help in Math? Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society) runs a peer tutoring
program in Room 307 on Tuesday/Thursday afternoons from 3:45-4:15pm and
Wednesday mornings from 8:15-8:45am. They can help all levels of math and no
appointment is necessary!
Are you having trouble in Spanish? The Spanish Honor Society is here
to help! We offer tutoring sessions in Room 1107 on Tuesday mornings
from 8:15-8:45am and Thursday afternoons from 3:45-4:15 pm.

Make sure to hold on to your special graduation ceremony on DVD! Pick up an

questions. DVD’S will be recorded and available at East Forsyth the week after
graduation. Cost is $20 and a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to East
Forsyth!
Any Senior who has earned their Gold Award or Eagle Scout should stop by
to see Mrs. Cobb ASAP. We want to be sure we recognize every Senior who has
earned either of these honors at Awards Day on May 20!!!
Cap & Gown Delivery
Any Senior who did not pick up their cap/gown/announcements should stop by
Guidance to pick up their items ordered. If you have a balance, call Jostens at
(800) 567-8367 to pay the remaining amount owed BEFORE your items can be
distributed. If you have not ordered a cap/gown, you need to do so immediately
and will be required to pay $75 at this point in the year…Call Jostens to order!
Hey Eagles! Attached is the 14th version of the scholarship newsletter with a
few new opportunities for Seniors posted. Take time to review available
scholarships, deadlines posted in newsletter (sometimes different than those posted
on scholarship applications), and ask questions if you have them.
Scholarship Spotlight
Darla Kendrick Memorial Scholarship was created in honor of former East
Forsyth teacher, Darla Kendrick. This $500 scholarship will be awarded to a
Senior who has maintained at least a 2.5 GPA with plans to attend a college or
university and demonstrated financial need. Return completed applications to Mrs.
Hubbard by May 8.
Seniors – remember to bring in copies of ALL scholarship award letters (even
if you do not plan to attend the schools that offered scholarships) to Mrs. Cobb as
soon as possible. We want to be sure all scholarship recipients have the
opportunity to be recognized at Awards Day in May!!!
Senior Reminders
 Stop by our office to fill out your post-secondary pennant for us to post (list
the college you’ll be attending next year)
 Return your completed Senior Exit Survey Card to Mrs. Cobb by April 30;
stop by Mrs. Cobb’s desk to pick up your card if you didn’t receive it when
completing the online senior surveys this week – our office uses these
cards to get final transcripts to the correct locations!!!
 Talk to your Counselor if you failed a class you need to pass for graduation
– Credit/Grade recovery options available NOW
 Remember to check college student portals or email so you don’t miss any
pending deadlines for college financial aid or other tasks that are required
for Fall 2015.
 Kernersville Connections: A great opportunity to represent Kernersville at Chamber of
Commerce events. Connection members will act as event hosts. Review requirements
and complete your application on-line at the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce
website. All completed applications with recommendation letters must be turned into
the Chamber of Commerce Office prior to May 15 at 5:00. Applicants will be
interviewed at East Forsyth High School on May 21.

Make sure your student gets a good night’s rest and eats a hearty breakfast!
Also, students are expected to attend their PM classes after taking an AM
exam. The end of the year is upon us! Make it count!
