wastewater treatment technology. This game-changing product is aimed at solving multimillion
dollar pain points for large corporations in a wide range of industrial markets including oil sands,

disruptive approach to treating challenging toxic industrial pollutants at up to 10X lower cost,

Position
Axine is seeking an Intermediate Designer to play a key role in the commercialization and
development of the technology. Reporting to and working closely with the SVP Engineering &
Operations, this position will be responsible for overseeing design and parts assemblies and for
supporting sales teams. This will involve close collaboration and coordination with Axine
management, employees, design consultants and suppliers. Axine is seeking an outstanding
individual with a diverse, well-rounded set of skills and a proven track record executing and
delivering similar types of assignments in a fast-moving and dynamic environment of a growing
technology company.
Key Responsibilities




Responsible for the design, development and implementation of components of Axine’s
wastewater treatment cells, stacks, modules and balance of plant
Manage parts and assemblies through their full lifecycles: from concept through
performance verification, manufacturing and field deployment
Maintenance and management of design files
Provide technical assistance to sales team
Required Skills and Experience





Mechanical Engineer or Technologist
5 – 7 years of experience
Advanced user of SolidWorks or other CAD software
Expertise in designing parts and assemblies for electrochemical, chemical process or
related industries
Finite element analysis including non-linear problems





Application of theory and tools for assessing linear stress, displacement, thermal
expansion, fatigue analysis, plastic deformation and creep
Experience designing parts for serial production
Knowledge of configuration management processes and tools
Design for manufacturing processes including injection molding, compression molding
and casting
Hands-on, practical approach to part development, prototyping, verification and
validation
Desirable Characteristics








Experience in scaling up new technologies – from lab prototypes through early field
pilots to commercial deployment
Experience in the design of molded and embossed parts, gaskets and seals
Perform a wide variety of functions in a start-up environment
Hands-on work and troubleshooting
Excellent critical thinking, analysis, and problem solving; excellent written & verbal
communication skills
Self-motivated, proactive, flexible and passionate about learning
Work well under pressure
Self-starter
