Volunteers often fulfill roles that would otherwise require paid staff. Depending on the nature of the agency and its
programs, volunteers can play a crucial part in a program’s quality and efficiency. Please describe your agency’s use
of volunteers, if applicable. Also, describe any special procedures you may have for screening volunteers, training,
etc.

The United Way staff is often asked for salary ranges in standard types of positions. This information is useful for
agency executives or board members who want to assess the adequacy of their agency’s salaries. Please complete
the following form and indicate salary ranges for your staff positions.
Please note that we do not wish to know the names of individuals. When furnishing this information, UWCL will not
attach an agency’s name to the data. Rather, we will supply anonymous budget sizes with the salary ranges
requested. In this way, the relative salary levels can be compared across agencies without a breach of confidentiality.
Many agencies have taken advantage of the UWCL capability when reviewing their own staff salaries.

Please list the staff positions in your agency, with the minimum and maximum of the salaries for each position.

List each position only once. For example, if you employ two secretaries who do essentially the same type of
work and are paid about the same, list “Secretary” only one time.

List no names of individuals

If your agency does not have official salary ranges for its staff positions, please estimate the range you
would expect to pay for that position.

A few positions are already listed. If any do not apply to your agency, leave them blank. Use blank spaces
for positions not already listed.

Budgets are plans that usually must be revised in response to changing conditions. Please submit budgets for Final
2014, Current 2015 and Proposed 2016 in the three-column format below. This will greatly facilitate our ability to
understand income sources across agencies, and you are welcome to the information when we have compiled it. If
you have several sources of income within a single category (e.g., Government or Foundations), please show them. If
your agency uses a different fiscal year, you may report on that basis, but please define it. You may include additional
notes to help readers understand unusual situations, amounts or changes. You are welcome to add more rows if
needed.
