Mad Scientist Alien Autopsy – For Families
Activity #1 Vomiting Monster


Materials Needed
Make a paper Mache volcano with a small pop
bottle and balloon week before.
Assistant to direct children to add ingredients


Pop bottle, balloon, flour, water
Baking soda, vinegar, measuring cups, pan
Activity #2 Mad Scientist Lab Gear


White Garbage bags cut to use as lab coats
Bow ties made out of cardboard Kids decorate
and put on using elastic string
Materials Needed

White garbage bags, cardboard, markers, elastic
string
Activity #3 Electricity Ball

Balloons blown up

Activity #4 Flubber Blubber

Materials Needed
Make flubber with corn starch and water

Activity #5 Edible Alien




Materials Needed
Balloons

Make an outline of an alien with a paper mache
head.
Assemble Alien and place on table. Cover with
Sheet until it is time for Autopsy.
Make a sketch on a white board for display and
have an overhead light on with all other lights
turned off.
Proceed with autopsy and families may
Eat the various parts.










The creative and building aspects of Minecraft allow
players to build constructions out of textured cubes
in a 3D procedurally generated world.
Other activities in the game include exploration,
gathering resources, crafting, and combat.

hunger; and creative, where players have an
unlimited supply of resources, the ability to fly, and

Apple Festival – For Families
Activity #1 Red, Yellow, Green, Go
 Choose 10 apples that are different
colors, patterns and sizes.
 Divide the apples by color, patterns, or
sizes which ever you prefer.
 Graph the apples (Color a block for each
apple)
 Graph them in multiple ways.
Activity #2 How Many Apples?
 Pull out the apples inside each
numbered basket.
 Write down the correct number of red
and green apples that you have counted
on the answer key.
Exploration Station – For Ages 2 to 5
Numbers
Activity #1 Cheerio chart
 Use cheerios to fill a chart that is divided
up with a number inside each block.
Activity #2 Play dough numbers
 Rolls play dough into snakes to make a
number. Parents can model then child
can try.
Activity #3 Shaving Cream numbers
 Squirt a small pile of shaving cream onto
the table and spread out with hand.
 Parent writes a number then the child
copies or a parent assists them with
their finger.
Activity #4 Chalk board Numbers
 Write a number on a blackboard and
have a child write the number next to
yours.



Write two numbers and see if they can
recognize which is which.

Patterns and Sorting
Activity #1 Sort Colors & Shapes
 Sort shapes such as circles, squares,
hearts, triangles that are in various
colors
Activity #2 Patterns
 Make patterns with the shapes by color,
shape, etc.
Activity #3 Foam Magnets
 Add magnets to back of shapes
 Magnets to take home to make patterns.
Activity #4 Cookie Sheet Math
 Make cookies that have frostings that
match. Real or fake.
 Child matches the cookies on the cookie
sheet and makes columns or rows of
matching cookies
 Show how to make patterns as well.
 Count them and talk about which one
has more, less or equal.
Activity #5 Sorting Ideas to share
 Sort laundry by color
 Sort socks by size
 Sort Rainbow Goldfish snacks
 Sort blocks by size or color

 Make necklace with fruit loops
