POSITION TITLE: RN- Staff Nurse - ICU RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Intensive Care Unit DATE: June 1, 2014 JOB SUMMARY: A staff registered nurse is a professional registered nurse who directs and/or performs nursing care to patients assigned to his/her team within the scope of his/her license. The staff registered nurse is responsible to the charge nurse on the unit to which he/she is assigned. This RN must effectively prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work environment is located in a comfortable indoor area. Conditions such as noise, odors, cramped workspace and/or fumes could sometimes cause discomfort. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing Currently licensed to practice as a professional registered nurse in the state of Missouri. This individual should be knowledgeable regarding growth and development and assessing the physical and psychological needs of patients in the following stages of life: Adolescence, early adulthood, and middle age. RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the Director of Intensive Care Unit. Also reports clinically during designated shifts to the Charge Nurse.
