Wayback Ltd.

Placement Information

Wayback Ltd is a drug and alcohol rehabilitation organisation and charity which have been successfully operating since 1969. The organisation deals primarily with the criminal justice system, offering both a residential and non-residential rehabilitation program that is based on harm minimization. Clients are generally motivated to succeed and can have some challenging behaviours to change.

Whilst on placement students will be paired into couples and will be trained to co-facilitate group therapy sessions on a variety of issues. The majority of clinical hours are through group work facilitation. Students are also required to liaise with the clients on a casual basis to gain trust and rapport with them. This is the way to gain one to one counselling sessions as all students must undertake a minimum of 15 hours one to one counselling over the duration of placement.
