CsI(Tl) detectors for use in vacuum
25 nos
CsI(Tl) detectors (integral assembly with photo-diode and preamplifier) for
charged particle detection to be used in vacuum (preferred heat dissipation of
50 mW per unit. Vendors may quote the expected heat dissipation.)
20 x 20 x 2 mm Csl(Tl) Scintillation Detector with a 2 -3 micron aluminized
mylar entrance window.
Coupled via a light guide to a 10x10 mm active area PIN photodiode with a
size of 12.7 x 14.5 mm (S3590-08 or eq)
The photodiode is coupled to a hybrid charge sensitive preamplifier
The charge sensitive pre-amplifier should have a 50  impedance
The pre-amplifier should be operated from a + 6 - +12 V power supply
The detector should have an operating bias of around 50 V , with a current of a
maximum 1nA and the maximum permissible operating voltage should be
+100V
The energy resolution should be 5-6% (fwhm) for 241Am alpha particles.
The entire assembly is enclosed/ encapsulated in a compact housing .
Vendors may also quote for an alternate (square) shaped encapsulation.
The connections should be with provided with flying leads for signal, power
supply (pre-amplifier and bias) and a ground and a maximum of 50 cm cable
length (minimum 20 cm in length).
It is preferred that the cables be brought out from the rear.
However, the vendors may provide for an alternate configuration for the
cables.
The rear housing plate should have 4 M6 blind tapped holes to couple the
housing to the mounting structure.
