Request for Proposals, 2015-16: INtopFORM Faculty Fellowships INtopFORM, ETSU’s Quality Enhancement Plan, promotes excellence in seeking, using and communicating diverse and often complex information. We invite ETSU faculty teaching in undergraduate, graduate or professional programs to apply for INtopFORM Fellowships in which they will complete projects that support this goal. As compared to the programs of study process in which several faculty in an undergraduate program of study seek to enhance INtopFORM learning outcomes for all students in the major, the fellowships support work by individual faculty. Such projects might include redesigning a single course taken by many students, creating instructional resources for use by faculty across the institution, or delivering INtopFORM-related professional development activities for faculty. ETSU will award 12 faculty fellowships in the third year of INtopFORM (2015-16). About INtopFORM INtopFORM promotes six abilities central to every academic discipline at ETSU and essential for students’ professional success and active citizenship: QUESTIONING Students ask questions that facilitate the solution of problems and the pursuit of opportunities. SEEKING Students identify information sources appropriate to questions of interest. EVALUATING Students apply critical thinking skills in evaluating information, information sources, and their own search processes. USING Students accumulate, synthesize and/or create information to address questions of interest. COMMUNICATING Students communicate information effectively RECOGNIZING Students recognize the responsibilities and consequences related to information ethics and intellectual property. Participation Requirements In applying for an INtopFORM Faculty Fellowship, a faculty member agrees to: complete a project that supports INtopFORM goals; attend INtopFORM workshop (Scheduled for August 5 – 7, 2015); participate in an INtopFORM faculty learning community; assess project outcomes; and share project outcomes with others at ETSU. Page 1 of 2 Eligibility ETSU faculty in all colleges and programs (undergraduate, graduate and professional) are eligible to receive INtopFORM Faculty Fellowships. Criteria In awarding INtopFORM fellowships we seek to promote widespread involvement in INtopFORM. We will consider the following factors when evaluating proposals: 1. impact of the proposed project on ETSU faculty or students with respect to the goals of INtopFORM; 2. estimated number of students or faculty affected by the project; 3. potential for expanding the scope of the project or replicating it elsewhere at ETSU; 4. benefits of the project for communities or the region served by ETSU; and 5. feasability of the project.
