This placement may be in the Georgetown area, or in another part of Kentucky, such as the student’s home town. These suggestions are in accordance with the recommended 4-year advising plan for B.M.E. students. “Odd fall entry” designates a student who begins his/her freshman year in an odd year (2013, 2015, 2017, etc); “Even fall entry” designates a student who begins his/her freshman year in an even year (2014, 2016, 2018, etc). Changes may be made according to each student’s individual situation, with the help of the education placement office, but 200 hours must be achieved before certification. Students must log all field placement hours. It is the responsibility of the teacher candidate to check in regularly with his/her Education advisor and field placement coordinator to ensure that all requirements are being met. For example, all teacher candidates must have field experiences at all levels to include Elementary School, Middle School, and High School in addition to being in many diverse settings. Your Education advisors and Field Placement Coordinator can help you with this process.
