Job Purpose
As a Driver it is your wholly responsibility to oversee the operations and maintenance of
WAT vehicles in your possession. Your expertise and understanding of vehicles will also apply to cases of procurement of WAT Vehicles.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Ensuring that all WaterAid vehicles are well maintained (routine service being done promptly) and repairs are done in only approved garages. This will also involve originates requests for the purchase of spare parts and for consumables such as fuel, oil etc
2. Will also double as the Fire Safety Officer; ensure fire extinguishers are in place, operational and regularly serviced.
3. Ensuring that daily and weekly vehicle checks are done and check list cards are filled in at all times.
4. Will carry out minor repairs and DIY requirements on all vehicles as required by any vehicle driver.
5. Ensures all vehicles are properly up-dated on their insurance and licences policies.
6. Prepare and issue log books for each vehicle for purposes of assisting in monitoring mileage, fuel consumption and vehicle usage.
7. Coordinates with Administration Officer on provision of transport services to WAT staff and International visitors.
8. Together with the concerned staff, in – charge and plan for field trips and advise accordingly to timelines required for travel.
9. Responsible for safety of vehicles outside WAT premises.
10. Any other WAT job related duties as may be assigned by your immediate supervisor.
