The theme of the archive is the Mi’kmaw word Tepi’ketuek—sharing or distributing what we have—and was chosen to reflect the tradition of giving and receiving what each of us have to offer so that the collective may flourish. By collecting and sharing these materials, the archive seeks to raise the awareness of the nature, depth, scope, beauty, and creativity of the Mi’kmaq today, as well as for future generations. Both the Mi’kmaw Archives team and I hope you will give us permission to showcase this work by allowing us to include the cover and abstract of the book on the website. The entry, in addition to this request for an image of the cover and the abstract of the book, will include the author(s) and a picture of them, the ISBN and number of pages of the book, a link to both the author (if they agree) and to your publishing company. If you accept this invitation to share via our website, we hope that you can provide us with a JPEG or TIFF file of the cover that we can resize to fit the requirements of the website. If you require more information you can visit the website at www.mikmawarchives.ca or contact myself by email ([email address]) or by telephone ([telephone number]). You may also wish to cc this correspondence with the coordinator of the website: Marie Battiste, at marie.battiste@usask.ca. Thank you for considering this request.
