CAREER SUMMARY
A mid - career agriculture research officer, plant physiologist and technical plant molecular
biologist with over 7 years’ professional experience in Agriculture, crops research and
development projects. Two years in management both donor and government funded projects.
Particular experience of over four years in seed multiplication, disease diagnostics, farmers
participatory and agriculture climate resilience projects in East Africa.

propagation technique (tissue culture). Project was funded by the Government of Tanzania, as a

and analysis, report writing and presentation.
Project 2 (Feb 2012-Jan 2014): Enhancing Food Security through Improved Seed Systems of
Appropriate Varieties of Cassava, potato and Sweet Potato Resilient to Climate Change in Eastern
Africa. For 2 years as (MSc) research fellow, funded by SIDA-SAREC.
Activities: Experimental design, Layout planning, data collection (field and lab measurements)
and analysis, sample collection (leaf, stem, roots, water, soil), report writing and presentation.
Project 3 (Feb 2014 to April 2015): “SEED POTATO DEVELOPMENT PROJECT IN
TANZANIA” Funded by Finnish government and coordinated by CIP as a research scientist.
Activities: Conduct and coordinate disease diagnostics activities for potato and producing potato
clean seeds using micro propagation techniques.
