KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Mr John J. Tenga is a Land use planner, Soil scientist and Remote sensing/GIS
specialist within the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security with an
experience of over 10 years. He has been carrying out research on land
management and advisory services in the field of natural resource management
in the south eastern Tanzania, focused on enhancing sustainable land use and
economic development.
He is currently the Head of Special Programme under the Zonal Research Centre (Naliendele
Agricultural Research Institute) with Zonal mandate of conducting research in soil and water
management, Agroforestry, Improving and maintaining soil fertility, evaluation of environmental
effect of chemicals used for pest and disease in crops and Soil survey and land evaluation in the
southern zone of Tanzania.
From 2007 to date, he works in collaboration with OJI Paper Company Ltd of Japan on
establishment of Eucalyptus plantation trial in the southern of Tanzania.
