 Fulfilling a requirement to graduate by doing a three-month, 35-hour-per-week internship
experience.
 I have experienced procedures for a federal agency (MBNMS) and a state agency (CA State Parks) by
working on the following projects: docent training, exhibit design, writing a proposal for a project,
educational programs, marine mammal protection, and marine mammal and public safety.
 I have met several employees who work either for the State or for NOAA. Some of which I have had
the pleasure to work with on my project or with a Coastal Discovery Center project.
 I have had the chance to participate in three citizen science programs such as: Rocky intertidal
monitoring (LiMPETS), Marine bird and mammal monitoring (BeachCOMBERS), monitoring for biotoxic plankton for the CA Department of Public Health.
 In addition, I have participated in monitoring our local beach for marine mammals in distress and for
public and marine mammal interaction.

I am learning a lot about the ocean, the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and invertebrates
within tide pools.
I am learning how to work in an office setting, how to communicate with the public, how to establish
a relationship with the public through school programs, docents, and the Discovery Center exhibits.
I have written and submitted a proposal for Geocaching, the first of its kind at Hearst San Simeon
State Park.
Codorus State Park Marina Concession

 Fulfilled customers needs in either the marina concession or boat rentals.
 Used many forms such as liability contracts and boat rental agreements.
 Boat rentals included many tasks such as managing large groups, reservations, cash register, proper
life vest fitting, demonstration of boating equipment, alerting customers of proper boat safety and
park rules.
 Marina work included detailing boats, keeping the marina clean, restocking merchandise, locking up
boats, and preparing boats for rental customers.

Junior Camp Counselor
 This was a weeklong camp where I helped the senior counselors with lessons, activities and
recreational trips.
 In charge of all the girls in the girls' wing of the house at night and in the mornings.
 Watched over all the children during free time and I was a good role model.
 We taught them about opportunities in D.C.N.R and other environmental agencies.

 Twice a month or more often if needed, I cleaned their home.
 This included vacuuming, dusting, and wiping down all surfaces, bathrooms, and kitchen appliances.
 Prepared their home to look presentable before they visited each weekend.
 For security reasons, I would frequently check in on their house.
 If needed, I would also water their plants.

 If the kitchen staff ever needed help I would aide them.
 Helped clean the dining room, reset tables and serve water to guests.



 Planned an event benefits Centre County PAWS animal shelter.
 This was a part of RPTM 356's Event Planning course.
 My team of 8 members and myself planned and implemented an event at Millbrook Marsh Nature
Center benefitting Centre County PAWS animal shelter.
 A semester-long, tedious project took much time and planning.
 I was on the logistics team along with being the team leader.

I coordinated our group's tasks, made many of the posters and activities for the event, and I
coordinated our demonstrations.
I was the main contact for our team.
On the day of the event, we successfully had over 100 people.
We made lots of money in donations towards PAWS.
Several PAWS shelter animals were noticed from our event and with anticipation found a new home.
Our event had a DJ, a live band, several activity booths, live PAWS shelter dogs to meet, a kissing
booth with a dog, food and beverages, raffle prizes, donation box, police dog demonstrations by the
State College Police and demonstrations by local dog trainers.

 I was the park offices' landscaper.
 I provided help to a facilitator of day camp, I cleaned up 120 campground sites and I repainted the

 I took three trips to the Veterans hospital with the Dear Hero Program, a program that supports
Veterans and troops overseas.
 We visited with Veterans' in the hospital, played bingo, and made Christmas cards.
Gray's Woods Elementary School Fun Fair

 I aided in the set up of their annual school fair.
 This included raffle prize tables, food and beverages, the art auction tables, and the activity booths

 This was another student-led event from our event planning class.
 Received extra credit for volunteering at their event and writing a paper on the experience.

Managed and interacted with participants in the crab soccer station.
 Coordinated teams of participants to play crab soccer while also refereeing the field and joining in on

 At the end of their playtime, I explained how the activity was related to Earth Day Birthday.
