You are invited to share your expertise, research and promising practices in the field of aging
by submitting your proposal for presentation and/or poster session to GGS.
Conference Theme: Riding the Wave of Opportunity:
Advancing Person - Centered Care
GGS is excited to announce that Person-Centered Care is the theme for 2016. As the aging
network looks toward the future, the possibilities are endless. We encourage anyone with an
interest in aging to submit proposals for consideration. Special attention will be given to
proposals highlighting innovations in the field of aging, best practices and emerging trends. We
are also soliciting scholarly work for inclusion in our poster session. Poster submissions from all
disciplines and on diverse topics of relevance to aging are welcomed. Join other experts in
presenting a session in one or more of the following 5 areas of focus:

Presentation Formats
Sessions will be conducted all day Tuesday and Wednesday morning of the conference week.
Presentations in any of the following formats are welcomed:
Workshop: A “how-to” or “best practice” session with an emphasis on Q&A. This format should
emphasize exchange of information and the demonstration and application of ideas, techniques
and skills in the field of aging.
Panel Discussion: A small group of panelists sharing different perspectives on a subject related
to the field of aging.
Informative Presentation: Educational sessions with emphasis on the latest research, trends
and initiatives relevant to the field of aging.
Poster Session
If you would like to present your work in our poster session, please submit the completed form
below. Under “Presentation Outline”, provide a 40-50 word abstract. This description will be
used in the conference brochure for all approved sessions.
Posters will be displayed during the August 8th President’s Reception. Conference attendees
will be able to interact with poster presenters and learn more about the topic being presented.
Fees
One presenter per presentation will be given a discounted registration. All other presenters
will pay regular conference rates. The discounted registration rate is $150. Refer to registration
form on the last page for all other registration rates. If you are only able to present your session
and will not be attending any other session, luncheon or event then no fee is required.
Equipment
An LCD projector and screen are provided in each room. Presenters are asked to bring their own
laptops or thumb drives.

Proposal Submissions
It is preferred that submissions be sent by electronic copy via email; mailed submissions will
also be accepted. Concurrent sessions are 60 minutes with a maximum of four presenters. All
proposals should include the following information on the attached GGS 2016 Submission Form.
Incomplete forms will not be considered.
1. Title, Conference Area of Focus and Presentation Format - Please make certain to include
presentation or poster title, area of focus and presentation format at the beginning of each
proposal.
2. Primary Contact Person and List of Presenters – Please make sure that the following are
included in the proposal: the primary contact and all presenter names, title, agency, mailing
and email addresses, telephone and fax numbers. The primary contact will receive all
correspondence related to the presentation and is responsible for forwarding such
information to all presenters.
3. Learning Objectives – List at least three learning objectives for each presentation. The
objectives should be measurable, for example: By the end of this session, participants will be
able to discuss risk factors for heart disease.
4. Presentation Summary – Provide 40-50 word summary of the proposed presentation. This
description will be used in the conference brochure for all approved sessions.
5. Presentation Outline should include an overview of the presentation including key topic and
elements and should not exceed one typed page.
6. Intended Audience – Describe the intended audience for your presentation. Include those
most likely to benefit from your session.
7. Presenter Qualifications – Provide brief bios for all presenters included in your proposal.
Include each presenter’s experience and training that qualifies them to participate in the
proposed presentation. Attach a resume for each presenter, as it is required for CEU approval.
8. Technology (A/V) Needs – Request any of the items listed under Equipment (above).
Please use the attached 2016 Presentation Submission Form and attach a resume for each
presenter as they are required for CEU approval. Please note that you may also submit your
proposal(s) online. Incomplete proposals will not be considered.
