Discipline can range from a zero on a specific assignment to expulsion from the class with a grade of F. The final grade for the course will be determined based on the following percentages. 90-100 A 80 – 89 B 70 – 79 C No extra credit assignments will be available! 60 – 69 D 0 - 59 F Quizzes: Quizzes are given every week during the first 15 minutes of lab. They will consist of 10 fill in the blank questions about material from the previous lab. The lowest quiz will be dropped. There will be no make-up quizzes unless approved by the instructor. If you must be absent, you need to make up the lab with another section during the SAME WEEK. You may not take a quiz in another lab more than once. Practicals: Each practical must be taken with your lab section. If you must be absent at that time, you need to get permission to take the practical with another section during the SAME WEEK. Practicals consist of 50 fill in the blank questions about material covered over the last 4 to 5 weeks. Practicals are not cumulative. Attendance: College Policy will look at your attendance 3 times during the Session. - At the end of the 1st week of the Session, at the end of the 2nd week of the Session, and after the withdrawal date or the 60% mark. - Attendance will be taken each lab meeting. - If you miss 2 labs you will be given an automatic “F”. - If the excessive unexcused absences occur before the withdrawal date you will be given a “WF”. - If you do not wish to have a “WF”, YOU MUST WITHDRAW YOURSELF. Instructors are no longer able to withdraw you. - If you disappear after the withdrawal date you will receive an “F”. Co-Requisite Lecture Course Policy: It is required to take a lecture course along with this course. The lecture course may be taken online or face to face. Remember, if you withdraw from lab, you will also need to withdraw from lecture since they are corequisites! Student Expectations: All electronic devices such as cell phones, beepers, pagers, and related devices are to be turned off prior to entering the classroom and laboratories to avoid disruption. Use of any device in these areas is a violation of College Policy and subject to disciplinary action. The instructor has the authority to ask a disruptive student to leave the classroom, lab, or Web course and to file disciplinary charges if disruptive behavior continues.
