Honors Program Application
Texas A&M University-Texarkana’s Honors Program is an enhanced and supportive learning environment for
students moved to pursue an education beyond typical course requirements. The Honors Program accepts
applications for both four-year and two-year undergraduate programs. Each year, the Honors Program
Committee selects four-year students and two-year students from a competitive pool of applicants for admission
into the Honors Program.
Following the inaugural Honors cohorts student created motto, “Leading the way in academic excellence with
service, integrity, and determination,” the Honors Program is looking for students who are:






Dedicated to learning
Possess initiative
Intellectually curious
Determined with a strong work ethic
Interested in serving the larger academic and social community
Or have other outstanding qualities that qualify them for the program
An application to the Texas A&M University- Texarkana Honors Program consists of a completed application, a
letter of interest and commitment, and current academic transcripts.
Letter of Interest and Commitment
Write an essay of 500-1,000 words documenting that you exemplify one or more of the qualities found in the
above bullet points. Candidates should focus on two or three of these points and provide specific details.
