Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science Checklist
We are pleased that you are interested in furthering your education at UW-Waukesha. The following information will help keep you on
track through the admission and registration process. NOTE: This degree has required online courses. We want you to feel comfortable
taking online courses before applying for this degree. Please let us know if you are concerned about this requirement.
Step 1:
____Meet with Kathleen Folbrecht, Adult Recruiter by calling 262-521-5201 to set up an appointment. Evening appointments are available
upon request.
Step 2: Declaration of Intent OR Application
____If you recently graduated from UW-Waukesha (within ONE semester) or are graduating soon, please fill out a declaration of intent for
the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences. This replaces the need for UW-Waukesha transcripts. (Please turn in to Enrollment Services,
C100)
OR
____Fill out UW-Waukesha B.A.A.S. Application at http://apply.wisconsin.edu
a. Create an application account
b. Under “Post-Secondary Education” select “some college courses”
c. Under “Reason for Applying” select “Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science”
d. This procedure must be followed exactly. This application serves many types of students, therefore, some of the questions may seem
inappropriate (i.e.: information about parents). This information is required for determining residency for tuition purposes. An Associate of
Arts & Science Degree must be completed before you can apply for the BAAS program.
Step 3: Transcripts and Application Fee (This step is for individuals who have NOT attended UW-Waukesha in the past)
____Send your official high school transcripts
____Send your college transcripts
____Pay the $44 application fee as soon as you submit your application-If you submit the admission application online, you can pay the $44
application fee online. You can
(Applications are not processed until all necessary documentations have been received. To be eligible to apply for the BAAS degree, you
must have an Associate of Arts and Science Degree from UW-Colleges and/or an equivalent degree from any liberal arts degree program.)
SPECIAL NOTE: If you have recently graduated from UW-Waukesha or any other UW-Colleges with an Associate of Arts and Science degree,
you do NOT have to send official high school transcripts, UW-Colleges transcripts, or pay the $44 application fee. However, if you
transferred to another college since attending UW-Waukesha, you must submit those official college transcripts. Official college transcripts
should be submitted to:

Step 4: UW-Partner Institution Applications
____Talk to Kathleen Folbrecht about which classes you prefer to take at a partner institution
____Fill out proper application for partner institution (You can do more than one in a given semester)

Step 5: Financial Aid
____All students are encouraged to apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at
www.fafsa.gov. For detailed information about financial aid visit “Financial Information” at http://waukesha.uwc.edu/FutureStudents/Financial-Information.aspx. You can also contact Judy Becker with questions at judy.becker@uwc.edu or call 262-521-5462. If you
choose to attend UW-Waukesha, our UW Colleges Code is #003897.
____Students taking classes at a partner institution will need to complete a consortium agreement with UW-Waukesha to receive financial
aid for total courses at all campuses. Your financial aid will ONLY be turned into UW-Waukesha and will cover classes at both UWWaukesha and any partner institutions upon completing this form. Pick up this form in Enrollment Services.
NOTE: You are responsible for paying the tuition at your other institutions.
Step 6: Meet with BAAS Advisor
____Set up appointment with your academic advisor, Kathleen Folbrecht, when you are eligible to register (you have been accepted) by
calling 262-521-5201 or emailing kathleen.folbrecht@uwc.edu.
NOTE: The BAAS advisor will be able to assist you with any questions regarding: degree requirements, course selection,
registration, partner institution classes, etc. If you are interested in classes from a partner institution, please Kathleen Folbrecht
know ASAP.
Admission
Once you have submitted all the necessary paperwork, you will receive an admission letter from UW-Waukesha and partner institutions.
If you do not receive this within two weeks of submitting ALL of the required paperwork, please contact us.
Enrollment Services at UW-Waukesha are dedicated to making your transition from getting your Associate degree to achieving your
Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science degree as smooth as possible. If you have any questions regarding the above information, please feel
