Marina Update
Most of the timber framing material has been assembled, erected and squared.
A 30 ton crane was required to lift the roof trusses on the highest part of the
building which is 35 ft. All the roof trusses have been installed. The next steps
will be the installation of the prefinished pine boards and spruce plywood by the
crew, fabrication and installation of the gable ends and the suspension of the
heating unit to the roof rafters.
P.A. Grant, the electrical contractor, was on site preparing the building for the
secondary power feed supply. NatureBuilt Wall Systems delivered all the prefab
straw-bale wall units from Welland Ontario. Most of the walls are now in place.
Wanson Lumber has delivered all its’ windows contracted to them. All-Tech
Systems visited the site and will be ready to install the roofing membrane as
soon as 20% of the roof and plywood sheeting has been completed.

Congratulations to the Winners of the House
Numbering Challenge
The Welcoming Committee for the Township of Red Rock challenged the
community to participate in a “House Numbering” challenge. The project was
to encourage all residents in Red Rock to have their house numbered and
visible.
A survey of the town was taken in the spring of 2011, and it was determined
that there were 53 houses did not have house numbers and 43 that were not
clearly visible. The Welcoming Committee was pleased to see that 21 houses
in Red Rock participated in the challenge and now has their house numbers on
their homes.
All the participants’ house numbers who qualified were eligible for the prizes.
There were two prizes were given to each the winning houses. One prize was
sponsored by Superior North EMS and the other the Red Rock Volunteer Fire
Brigade. Thank you to Superior North EMS, Red Rock Volunteer Fire Brigade
and the Red Rock Welcoming Committee for donating the prizes and
encouraging the residents of Red Rock to keep their house numbers visible.
