Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity with the help of Professor Ingunn Holen's group described how human and animal bones are used to investigate how cancer spreads to the bones. The visitors tested the breaking strain of bones that had been treated in different ways and heard about the research into why cancer cells can remain dormant in the bone and then start to grow many years later. David Booker talks bones at Discovery Night Ingunn Holen talks bone metastasis Yorkshire Cancer Research with the help of Dr Andy Chantry showed how Game Technology can be used to help understand how cancer interacts with the bone microenvironment. Nikki and Lindsey from YCR created tumour busting viruses from sweets, marshmallows and cocktail sticks.
