<NAME OF CLINIC> or <NAME OF VETERINARIAN> Joins Nationwide
Effort to Improve Health of Dogs
<INSERT DATE, CITY, STATE> — <NAME OF VETERINARIAN / CLINIC NAME> is
now participating in Morris Animal Foundation’s Golden Retriever Lifetime Study, the largest and
longest observational research study ever initiated to improve the health of dogs. The study is
recruiting 3,000 Golden Retrievers evenly distributed across five national regions in order to best
identify the causes of cancer and other diseases. <NAME OF VETERINARIAN / CLINIC
NAME> has partnered with the study to help encourage local Golden Retriever owners to enroll
their dogs.
“By watching each dog over its lifetime and comparing the data gathered, Morris Animal
Foundation can evaluate the influence of genetics, diet and environment on the incidence of cancer
and other diseases,” says <NAME OF VETERINARIAN>. Although finding the causes and
frequencies of cancer is the main goal of the study, researchers also hope to gain insights into a host
of other canine medical problems, including diabetes, epilepsy and skin disorders.
<NAME OF VETERINARIAN> hopes to find interested Golden Retriever owners in the
<CITY, STATE> area. Participating dogs will be seen annually for a routine physical exam and
collection of samples for laboratory analysis. Each dog’s owner will also complete an online
questionnaire every year about their dog’s diet, travel and living environment.
Those interested in enrolling their dogs should visit www.CanineLifetimeHealth.org.
Enrolled Golden Retrievers must be healthy and purebred with a verifiable three-generation
pedigree, be between 6 and 24 months of age and reside in the contiguous United States. Individuals
with friends or family who own Golden Retrievers are asked to share the website.
