Bobcat Yearbook Photography Staff Try-Out Requirements ALL FOUR PARTS DUE BY FRIDAY, MAY 15. No Exceptions. Submit your completed try-out packet in CT-202. The yearbook photography staff is an elite group of young adults. This entire school, and sometimes administrations, depends on them to take outstanding photography of every event that occurs on this campus. It takes dependability, professionalism and maturity to be a yearbook photographer. Below are the four steps required to try out for the photography staff. Mrs. Morgan does not set a minimum number of accepted applicants. After all four parts are completed and any teacher conferences are complete, she hand picks this group of students that so publically represent this great yearbook and this amazing school. It is an honor and a privilege to be asked to join The Territory Yearbook Photography Staff. PART 1: Application Complete the “Yearbook Photographers Application” form and submit this form to Mrs. Morgan. PART 2: Photo “Scavenger Hunt” Your packet includes a list of photos that you must take and submit back to Mrs. Morgan. Editing is optional. These photos must be *usable* for yearbook, which means they should contain BNHS students. Judges will examine scavenger hunt photos for working knowledge of camera use, not on automatic settings, AND for creative photo composition. All work will be digital. PART 3: Written Assessment The written assessment describes situations that the yearbook photography staff faces every year and asks you to explain how you would handle them. This section will assess your professionalism and judgment. PART 4: Mrs. Morgan Interview You will need to schedule an interview time with Mrs. Morgan that takes place BEFORE the Friday, May 15 due date. You can email her at cmorgan@nisdtx.org or stop by and see her in CT-202 to schedule an interview. Your interview should only take about 10 minutes. Other qualifications and traits we are looking for include: 1. JUDGEMENT: Discretion with photos (as in the pictures NOT ending up on Facebook or in the hands of your friends…) 2. PROFESSIONALISM: Maturity when dealing with teachers and other students AND how you present yourself with attire and manners. 3. RESPONSIBILITY: One “No Call No Show” as a photographer is grounds for removal from the photography staff. Good luck! If you have any questions or need clarification about any part of the try-out packet or try-out process, ask Mrs. Morgan now… not later! You can email her at cmorgan@nisdtx.org or stop by CT-202 to talk.
