Survey 1 – Recycling Start At Home (57 responses) 1) 98.2% of people believe recycling plays a major part in saving the environment. 2) 100% think that recycling is necessary. 3) When asked if recycling will benefit Singapore on the whole in the future, and how it would do so, the responses were generally: - Reduce energy consumption - Build a sustainable future - Reduce land wastage for landfills - Reduce volume of waste produced - Generate new business opportunities - Cut down on Waste Management Costs - Inculcate good practices - Reduce our Carbon Footprint - Highlights the wasteful side of Consumerism, especially in Singapore 4) 40.4% of people recycle ONCE A WEEK, 22.8% recycle EVERYDAY, 17.5% ONCE A MONTH, 14% NEVER. 5) 54.4% of people NEVER sort their rubbish into glass, paper, plastics and cans, 17.5% ONCE A WEEK, 12.3% ONCE A MONTH. 6) How well is recycling promoted in your estate?
