OF FRENCHMAN BUTTE NO 501: Application for Municipal Road Allowance Development to allow access to a residential subdivision Location: _____________________________________________________________ Name: _______________________________________________________________ Address: _____________________________________________________________ Phone #: _____________________________________________________________ 165/11 YOUNG: That the R.M. of Frenchman Butte No. 501 Council adopt a policy to assist residential developers with construction of municipal right of ways, up to one-half (1/2) mile. Further, municipal funding will be to a maximum of $50,000.00 (not including legal survey work, fencing and right of way purchase of a minimum 100 foot right of way of which the municipality will also pay for). If road construction exceeds ½ mile, or if costs exceed $50,000 (not including legal survey, fencing and right of way purchase) the additional costs will be borne by the residential developer. Further, the private developer must commit to the development of the road by posting a bond of $5,000, plus any amount over the first $50,000.00 to be covered by a Letter of Credit (cost estimate will be based on construction estimation by the municipalities engineer) . Further, the $5,000 bond will be returned upon completion of road construction and settlement of any additional funds for the final road construction costs. Further, the R.M of Frenchman Butte No. 501 with regards to the building of a residential approach on a Municipal right of way may supply: 10 cubic yards of gravel and up to a 600mm culvert. The cost of the installation of the culvert and the construction of the approach as well as the cost of the materials will be subtracted off the $50,000 amount that the RM will pay to approved projects. The residential developer will provided three cost estimates for the approach project and council will have final say to which company to choose if any. Permits and surveying will be the responsibility of the R.M. The approach must be constructed to Municipal Residential Standards with the width of 9 meters straight that flares to 11 meters. 1) Please attach pictures of the road allowance that needs to be established or upgraded as Appendix “A”. 2) Please draft a diagram showing where the road allowance needs to be established or upgraded. Also include where the proposed house location and access to the municipal road allowance will be. 3) Additional Comments: Letter of credit? Please note that the R.M of Frenchman Butte Council has the final decision on which projects they deem necessary and they shall have final say about the construction of municipal right of way.
