see the differences between a life of crime
and a life without it. Your song must

The purpose of this project is to combine
information from our text, supporting texts,
relevant media, and internet research to develop an
ad to help sway teens away from a life of crime.
Scholars may choose to work alone, in a duo, or a
maximum group of three. Students may need to
work on this project outside of class in order to
submit STELLAR work.
Commercial: Develop an advertisement
that persuades the audience to steer clear
of crime or that informs the audience of
the dangers of crime. Your ad must
contain:
 A clear message to the viewer
 Well-thought out scripting
 Statistics and researched
information to support the
message
 A works cited page

short drama that reveals the dangers and
consequences of teen crime. Your miniseries must include:
 A clear plot
 Convincing characters
 Appropriate dialogue

Newspaper: Write a series of articles that contain information teen’s
need to know about crime and violence. These articles can be full of
statistics and alternatives to crime. They can also be coverage of
local/national events that have involved teens.
Your newspaper must include:
 An original title
 Images with captions
 A mixture of informative and editorial articles
 A works cited page
Short Story: Write a story that with teen
crime as the central idea. Be sure to have
a compelling moral or lesson for readers
about the perils of teen crime. Your story
must include:
 Dynamic characters
 Elements of a story (exposition,
rising action, climax, falling
action, resolution)
 A strong moral for readers
 A works cited page
