The next CSCC newsletter (DEC 2015/JAN 2016) will be published on 1 December 2015 Gordy Rothoff Ride Donations – Gordy’s jerseys will be at the Jan Club meeting and are free to anyone who would like them. They are size XL. Vincent Bridge Cottonwood Trail Special Rides / Activities– Jean Zeh 22 NOV Tour d’Turkey Ride at 1pm – Bill Gast o Participants are requested to bring can(s) or sealed non-perishable food to be donated to a local Food Pantry. 5 DEC Festival of Lights Parade (Saturday Night) – Bill Gast o Join the CSCC tradition and ride down Tejon Street on your decorated bicycles. TBD Holiday Ride to see the Christmas Lights – need a ride leader 12 DEC Holiday Party (Saturday Night 6:00pm to 10:00pm) – Bill Gast o The party location is the Pioneer Museum. Attendance is limited to 100 people. The food will be a partial potluck (Garden of the Gods Gourmet will provide two entrees), similar to this summer’s picnic. Attendees are requested to bring a potluck (salad, side dish or dessert) Water and soda will be provided by the club. And, BYOB white wine or beer only. o The cost for this event will use tiered pricing, and begins at $10 per club member. The tiered pricing increments and timeframes are Nov 22 – Nov 30 $15 per person and Dec 1 – Dec 8 $20 per person o The Holiday Party is a dress up affair. Historical personalities that may make an appearance are General Palmer, Queen Palmer, Zeb Pike and race car driver Al Unser. For other dress-up options, check out the characters in the three (3) “Night at the Museum” movies. Prize! o Dave Horne Community MVP and CSCC Volunteer of the Year will be recognized (revised plaque) o Entertainment (Music, Games or Activities) are in the planning process. 1 JAN 2016 30th Frozen Water Bottle Ride & Lunch at BJs– Charlie Czar o University Village Shopping Center November 3, 2015 Page 2 CSCC Bear Creek Trail Ride West of Denver was October 16th Progressive Dinner Ride was October 25th – Over 50 people rode and ate at the 3 stops. Officer Elections – Charlie Czar & Al Brody Al Brody discussed the club officer nominations. He also confirmed that he and Tamara are selling their house and will be taking their trailer on the road. They’ll be “off to discover America”. However, they will drop in on occasion, as well as try to stay connected to the Club. They intend to start their first trip (west) in mid-November. Positions open are: President nomination accepted by Janine Hegeman, Vice-President no one accepted the nomination so far, Secretary no one accepted the nomination so far, and Treasurer nomination accepted by Sara Hill. The CSCC Officer Nominating Committee: Al Brody, Chris Davenport, and Sid Rubinow. We will make last contact with potential nominees and begin the election ballots with “write in” for the positions without nominees. The open spots can be filled by the President with Board approval after the election in accordance with the Club By-Laws. Elections are in November, with 24-month terms beginning Jan 1st. BVBF MOU – Charlie Czar The BVBF MOU is signed. The BV Rotary Club helped us last June and will begin running the BVBF this June. National Bike Challenge – Charlie Czar October - Post NBC Entries continue “just for fun”. 60 CSCC 2014 Riders posted miles in October. CSCC #17 of 1,443 Teams Posting in Oct CSCC #1 of 82 CO Teams Posting in Oct COS #17 of 3,653 Communities (Ft Collins #13 & Denver #14) in Oct. Team members can continue to post miles on the NBC site in Nov and Dec.
