Revolutionary Single Pull Loop™ (SPL) Bindings
Crescent Moon began as an epiphany written on a bar napkin to create a better snowshoe by focusing
on the binding, and soon after the Single Pull Loop (SPL) was born. The SPL has since evolved to be
recognized as the “best binding on the market”. Unlike other bindings, the SPL features a U-shaped
cinch strap that secures the binding over the forefoot and arch with a ‘single pull’ adjustment that
captures the foot in all directions. The binding is anatomically molded polymer, which is flexible and
conforms to the entire foot. This system distributes equal tension throughout and results in better
support, lasting comfort and improved blood flow.
Floatation and Traction
Crescent Moon’s unique teardrop-shaped frames mimic the contour of one’s foot to enable a natural
stride while walking or running. Body weight is distributed evenly across the entire shoe for optimal
floatation and maneuverability in the snow. A rugged three-claw traction system provides superior grip

Gold 12 Running and Racing Shoe
Improvements in binding shape and stability take high performance Gold 12 snowshoes to new heights
Boulder, CO — (Nov. 19, 2013) — Crescent Moon, pioneers in the design and creation of handcrafted,
high performance snowshoes, announces upgrades to its award winning Gold 12 running series of
snowshoes for Fall 2013 / Winter 2014. Key improvements to the SPL Race bindings on the Gold 12
series focus on increasing stability and supporting circulation, while setting new standards for
snowshoes designed for running.
The new binding features a single molded plastic harness that replaces the footplate and strap
configuration in previous models. An enlarged harness shape provides increased support around the
forefoot and arch, reducing hot spots and pressure without compromising ease of use or adding
weight. By distributing the pressure across the foot instead of contact points, blood circulation
throughout the foot is improved. A new unique stabilizer is added beneath the foot to deliver extra
torsional support, while an enlarged stomp pad adds traction for running on demanding terrain.
"Like competitive runners, we’re always looking for ways to improve our products' performance,"
explains Jake Thamm, president of Crescent Moon. "With our running series we concentrated on two

Boulder, CO — (Jan. 22, 2014) — Crescent Moon, pioneers in the design and creation of handcrafted,
high performance snowshoes, will debut its new and improved Rocket Series of carbon fiber
snowshoes at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market tradeshow in January. Based on consumer demand
for outdoor gear that is increasingly lightweight and higher performance, Crescent Moon has perfected
its Rocket carbon fiber snowshoes resulting in a lighter, stronger and more flexible snowshoe that costs
less to build.
Key improvements to the SPL Race bindings features a singular molded plastic harness that provides
increased support around the forefoot and arch. The streamlined design reduces the overall weight of
the direct mount shoe 19-percent, as well improving the speed and quality control of the production
process. Additionally the shoes will now retail for $399, an 11-percent savings from the previous
model.
Crescent Moon was the first brand to use carbon fiber to construct their ultra-lightweight snowshoes
built for racing and running. Weighing just 2.9 lbs. per pair with binding and 1.8 lbs. direct mount, the
frame of the Rocket snowshoe is made from molded, ultra-lightweight carbon fiber composite.
Engineered to be stronger than steel, carbon fiber technology makes the composite material
improbably lightweight and abrasion resistant.
