Institute of International Academic and Scientific Cooperation invites you to the International Seminar «INTERNSHIPS AT INTERNATIONAL INTERGOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS: INTERNTIONAL CAREER - 2015» Vienna, October 19– 22, 2015 Aim of the project is to promote the involvement of highly motivated young professionals to maintain the peace and international security by providing relevant information and acquainting them with internship and employment opportunities at international intergovernmental organizations We all live in interconnected world in which globalization is inseparable from searching quite narrow identity in many cases. What is the best way to fight against extremism, polarization and confusion in the world? Interactive program of this Seminar will enable participants to dive into the essence of skills required for Citizens of the World. Through participation in workshops, presentations and briefings with international experts seminar participants will become acquaint with the career opportunities in international intergovernmental organizations. Organizers: Institute of International Academic and Scientific Cooperation and Polish-Azerbaijan Association for Cooperation Program includes meetings and presentations at the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the UN Office in Vienna, the EU Commission Representation in Vienna. 1. The headquarters of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). The work of young professionals and trainees in the OSCE is aimed at preventing conflicts in the regions, crisis management, liquidation of conflict consequences. The main means of security maintenance and key tasks solving are the work in the following areas: 1. Political and military sphere: controlling the spread of weapons; diplomatic efforts to avoid conflict. 2. The economic and ecological spheres: economic and environmental security. 3. Civil society, human rights, development of democratic institutions, election monitoring. 2. The headquarters of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UN). A number of UN agencies, including the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) et al., provides a wide range of opportunities for motivated young professionals to start career at international intergovernmental organizations through training programs, volunteering and internships. The staff of the United Nations shall respect the basic values of the UN, including conscientiousness, professionalism, 1 efficiency and respect for cultural diversity. The UN gives the opportunity to work in a dynamic multicultural environment and participate in solving the world's problems. 3. The European Commission Representation in Vienna. The EU provides the opportunity for persons interested in the European integration to do an internship at the headquarters of the European Commission or other executive bodies / agencies of the European institutions such as the European External Action Service or the Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation and others. Young professionals are involved in developing relevant and effective proposals to provide operational support to civil society initiatives aimed at promoting democracy, consolidation of society, rule of law and strengthen respect for all human rights and freedoms in the European Union. Target audience: Bachelor, Master and PhD students, which conduct research and/or are interested in different fields of international relations, law, economy, politology. Young specialists and professional are also encouraged to participate in the project. Working language: English (for effective participation in the event it is the recommended knowledge of English at a conversational level). TERMS FOR PARTICIPATION in the International Seminar “Internships at the International Intergovernmental Organization: International Career” Registration fee 150 Euro (registration until September 1st 2015) 186 Euro (registration from 01.09.2015 to 30.09.2015) covers: 1. Methodological and educational program and handouts; 2. Accommodation category 3 *** with breakfasts (buffet, 1 night) - optional; 3. Transfers in vienna according to the agenda; 4. Registration procedures: in order to participate in the project you should fill in and submit the online application form until September 30th, 2015. Participants shall be selected on the basis of their motivation letters. Within 3 working days from receipt of the invitation to participate in the project, an amount equivalent to 50% of the registration fee shall be paid for final registration in the event. The remaining amount of the registration fee shall be paid at the beginning of the International Seminar in Vienna. Terms for refusal of a participation in the project: for any reason for refuse to participate in the project, the amount of the registration fee shall not not be refunded except the case of refusal to participate declared in writing before the expiration of registration deadline.
