Lunchtime
We believe that lunchtime should be
an enjoyable experience for the
children. Together with the School
Council, we are focusing on School
Lunchtimes this half term. This will
include table manners, using cutlery
correctly, healthy lunch choices and
improving the environment in the
dinner hall and classrooms.
PE and Sport
PE is part of the National Curriculum
which incorporates games, dance,
gymnastics and athletics. Please
make sure that your child has a full
PE kit of blue or white t shirt, blue or
black shorts and pumps at ALL times
in school, and that all items are
named. Thank you for your
continued support.
Friends of Gainsborough
FOG are a friendly bunch of people
made up primarily of parents, but
welcome anyone who shares their
commitment to raising money for
the school. They run various events
across the year and money raised
goes directly into projects that
benefit our children’s education.
Have you got a few hours to spare
and a few ideas to share with them?
If you would like to join in, the next
meeting is at 1.00pm on Tuesday
12th January 2016. Come along for a
cuppa and a chat.
Dear Parents/Carers,
N
Happy New Year - I hope you have had an enjoyable Christmas break and
managed to get some time to rest!
The children have arrived back to school ready for 2016 and have been
working really hard in their lessons this week. The staff and senior leaders
have been looking at the progress the children have made last term and
we are pleased with how we are continuing to move the children’s
learning towards meeting age related expectations. A big thank you to
you at home as well, as your support with reading, spelling, writing,
maths and other homework is invaluable. If you would like to know what
to do to help your child further, please don’t hesitate to contact your
child’s teacher who will be more the happy to offer advice or suggest
resources.
We have had an assembly this week learning about what respect means
and how we be can be respectful to each other, and have also talked
about the importance of attendance and punctuality, which as you can
see was been below national expectations the week before Christmas.
Have a good weekend,
Miss N Hough
