TRAFFIC SYSTEMS SPECIALIST

THE POSITION
OMJC Signal, INC is seeking an individual with an advanced skill set in traffic signal systems to perform
installation, diagnosis, repair, modification and maintenance tasks for computerized/automated traffic
signal systems and related equipment.
ESSENTAIL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITES












The following duties are normal for this classification. These are not to be construed as
exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
2 years’ hands-on experience with Information Technology hardware and software installation
and configuration, including cable selection, terminations, and trouble-shooting
Significant experience with wireless communication – especially cellular and non-licensed
spectrum
2 years’ experience with customer support and training
Significant experience with NTCIP, POE, CCTV – especially wireless transmission and control of
PTZ video
Willingness to travel (30%)
Ability to gain IMSA Level II Bench certification within 2 years, Level III Bench in 5.
Ability to design, select components, construct, install and maintain a traffic signal intersection
within a wireless environment.
Working knowledge of ITS traffic cabinet and ATC specification traffic controller
Significant experience in non-invasive vehicle detection (microwave, video)
Some experience with solar power desired but not required
Some experience with quality assurance programs desired but not required
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
An Associate’s degree in Electronics or related field

The OMJC Brick and Mortar
We are located on 4 acres occupying over 35,000 sq. ft. of office, storage and production space. Our
facility enables us to warehouse a large volume of new and used materials for refurbishing and resale.
We have many functions that take place within our facility such as: sales and marketing, prototype
development, electronics manufacturing, welding, fabrication, assembly, quality control, warehousing,
and used inventory processing and remanufacturing, shipping and receiving.
The OMJC Future
OMJC is moving in the direction of improving safety and efficiency in our transportation sectors. We are
often working in marketplaces where governments find themselves with shortages of both labor and
funds. Therefore we have taken the approach of being quick to adapt to customization requirements of
existing OMJC products. Our equipment not only improves efficiency and productivity, but also increases
safety. Much of OMJC's equipment is 100% solar powered, reducing demand on the power grid.
We are known for manufacturing state of the art portable traffic signals. Our position on the NEMA TS-5
Portable Traffic Signal sub-committee allows OMJC to establish new goals for industry developed
standards regarding portable traffic signals. We will continue to be a supplier to other manufacturers
that benefit from our PortaMast™ line of products in conjunction with their products and applications.
Certainly our battery, charge control management, and solar expertise will let us further capitalize upon
the alternative energy markets in years to come. We will continue to practice recycling and energy
conservation as best we can.
