The use of coal and natural gas causes harmful carbon emissions that damages our planet. As a society we are dependent on these nonrenewable resources for our way of life. These methods are harming our planet and the solution is solar energy. 2. Electricity generated by the sun produces no harmful emissions. This reduces the home’s carbon footprint. This energy is all around us and is available for our use. Solar energy is clean energy that is a friend to Earth. It is a renewable resource that is available all over the world. It can be used to help countries with limited resources in producing clean energy. 3. Generating your own solar power using panels on your roof means you are not as dependent on utilities and the electric power grid to provide your electricity. This means when power goes out, due to a problem with services, your home is not threatened. 4. Solar energy can be used in remote places across the world. This allows access to clean energy for remote areas that normally do not have their basic needs of life. Schools, hospitals can all be accessible because of solar energy.
