ABSTRACT
The aim of this experiment in to investigate the optimalization of the use of liquid herbs by eliminating one of the that contain same bioactive substances as well as the arrangement of feeding interval in improving broiler performance. This experiment was conducted from
January to March 2012 in the Laboratory of Omnivorous animal, Faculty of Animal Sciense,
Hasanuddin University. Experimental animals used in this experiment were 100 DOC Strain
MB 202 Japfa. Treatments applied were; A1B1 ( 12 herbs ingredients offered daily), A1B2
(12 herbs ingredients with 2 days offering interval), A2B1 (7 herbs ingredients offered on daily basis ), A2B2 (7 herbs ingredients with 2 days offering interval ). Parameters measured were weight gain, feed cosumption, and feed conversion. The data obtained were analysed statically using completely randomized design (CRD) arranged in to 2x2 factorial design with five replications. The result of the statistical analysis showed that the offering of a variety of herbs by eliminating ingredients that contain same bioactivesubstances of other ingredients that have already included in the herbs offered as well as offering interval showed no significant different (P>0,05) on weight gain, feed cosumption, and feed conversion of the broiler. The average weight gain in treatment A1B1 = 185.50 g/head/week, A1B2 = 198.18 g/head/week, A2B1 = 204.08 g/head/week, A2B2 = 207.12 g/head/week. The average cosumption of the ration in treatment A1B1 = 520.96 g/head/week, A1B2 = 529.76 g/head/week, A2B1 = 562.74 g/head/week, A2B2 = 531.10 g/head/week. While the average of feed conversions of ration were treatment A1B1= 2.76, A1B2= 2.55, A2B1= 2.63, A2B2=
2.45. It can be concluded from this experiment that the use of 7 herbs ingredients with the 2 days administration interval tend to be more effective then those other treatments in improving the performance of broilers.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat optimalisasi penggunaan ramuan herbal bentuk cair dengan pengurangan bahan yang memiliki kandungan zat bioaktif sama serta pengaturan interval pemberian dalam meningkatkan performa broiler. Analisis ragam memperlihatkan bahwa pemberian ramuan herbal cair dengan pengurangan bahan yang memiliki kandungan zat bioaktif sama serta pengaturan interval pemberian tidak berpengaruh (P>0,05) terhadap pertambahan berat badan, konsumsi ransum dan konversi ransum pada broiler. Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan tujuh bahan ramuan herbal dengan pemberian dua hari sekali cenderung lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya dalam meningkatkan performa pada broiler.
