PH 5 Contemporary – a new distinctive colour range
Times change and colours change. Light has become an important part of
interior design, and contemporary trends are therefore being reflected more
and more in lighting.
PH 5 is a design classic. World-famous and more popular than ever. PH 5
enjoyed its 50th anniversary in 2008 and was celebrated in a special
campaign: happy colour – happy birthday. These lights are still best sellers
around the world and being featured in leading home furnishing magazines.
Louis Poulsen is now launching a completely new and different colour range
for the design icon – matching contemporary hues and trends. Its ability to
adapt to all types of interiors remains unique, but the new colour range makes
the role of the lighting in the overall interior design more pronounced.
The colour combinations range from soft white/rose and rose/green to the
more masculine and tough army green/dark grey and dark grey/turquoise.
These combinations make the lights an integrated part of the furnishings,
without dominating. A special feature of the PH 5 light is the spacers which
hold the shades precisely in position. In all new variants these are now
finished with a warm bronze colour.
All the colour variants have a matt surface giving the distinct design extra
softness and making the new model stand apart visually from the PH 50
anniversary edition.
The new colour variants are a good match with contemporary natural
materials, various woods, raw concrete, textiles and other accessories. They
help create a comfortable and soft atmosphere, and time for reflection,
socialising and relaxation.
It is possible to use several different light sources in the PH 5: incandescent,
halogen, energy saving lamps and LED.
The PH 5 in new colours will be available from approved Louis Poulsen shops
from April 2013 (applies to Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland) and on
other markets they are introduced early fall 2013. The recommended retail
price is GBP 495 (incl. VAT).
