Be a part of the Team that drives the A.P.Fibre Grid project (Phase 1) JOB DESCRIPTION FOR A PROJECT MANAGER Location : Hyderabad JOB DESCRIPTION To develop, plan and manage implementation activities for a State Govt driven FTTH project of comprehensive Broad band Network Services program , a first of its kind Initiative. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES The PM is accountable for timely project planning, monitoring, completion and delivery. He will Develop project plans to document project scope, schedule, tasks, change control and risk management. Develop and maintain status reports and tracking sheets to be communicated in both a formal and informal setting. -Conduct project site surveys at customer locations to help solidify project scope and identify project variables. Work closely with Operations Technicians and their Supervisors to ensure that project tasks are completed to scope and in a timely manner. -Coordinate with state govt and central govt agencies like power distribution companies, PWD etc., for ROW and permit issues, resolve for quick and efficient roll out of the project, coordinate down to Panchayats and other related agencies/jurisdictional authorities for day to day issues of laying the Aerial OFC. Facilitate meetings and project documentation including adhering to network services and drawing standards. -Manage proposals. bids, scope definition, engineering design cycles and design review and approvals for a FTTH network. specifically, the selection of EPC vendors. -Manage vendor scope of work (SOW), project change orders and materials procurement sufficient to meet contractual requirements. Making field visits in support of project, maintenance or relocations, as necessary. Designing solutions that are scalable, reliable, and cost effective - Supporting the 24x7 on-call process by functioning as primary call contact and providing engineering backup to help troubleshoot during implementation stage. Any other task/activity assigned from time to time. ESSENTIAL SKILLS 1.Managing Fiber Optic Network Engineering & Operations project with leadership skills and ability to work closely on project requirements, costs and schedules. 2.Should have worked in the OFC design, cable laying, installation, etsting, commissioning and maintenance works of ADSS and OPGW fiber cables in electrical distribution and transmission power space including its planning, monitoring and implementation - Familiar with ADSS and OPGW cable design and suspension hardware. 3.Knowledge of mapping programs that can document fiber optic cable routes and correlating and validating the GPS data with the physical dispersion and terrain. 4.Familiar with optical network technologies (i.e., DWDM, SONET, MPLS, etc.) that use fiber optic cables as a transport medium ,reasonable knowledge of OFC equipment and standards governing the same. Experience of working with GPON technology implementation will be an advantage. 5.Good communicator with ability to facilitate meetings and document requirements and other project documentation. Must be proficient with MS Project and Knowledge of incident management systems used to track problems and planned activities, able to capture data and maintain office records, updates thru PM tools .Knowledge of SW and working with spread sheets desirable. 6. Knowledge of RFI/RFP ,tendering ,contracts ,agreements and project monitoring. Preferred Skill Sets: B Tech/M Tech in Electronics and Communications Technologies with a minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience in IT/Telecom industry with demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage large projects to completion.
