People do not believe her because Zac is the golden boy and Grace is known as the weird person because of the way she dresses, mostly in black. Grace goes through depression and must face people who disrespect her and call her a liar, including her ex best friends and her father. Ian is the only person who believes Grace. At first, Grace did not want to trust Ian because he is Zac’s best friend. In the novel, Grace is heroic because she overcomes everything and fights for justice and in order for people to believe her.
