Officers’ Reports:
! A. President’s Report: PTO goals were discussed. This is a
great learning community with a supportive staff. We really want the kids to feel
part of the community. We welcome all volunteers.
! B.Treasurer’s Report (Karin
Poellinger): 2014/15 budget reviewed and approved. Thanks to those who have
already turned in their Family Pledge. Your contribution makes a significant
difference.
! ! Community Service Night will be in conjunction with our Noodles
Fundraiser this year. Both events are held on the same night and all proceeds
raised at Noodles will go to support the Community Service Night. ! ! Possible
addition of the 5th grade play to the budget?
Committee Reports: ! Traffic/Parking Lot (Christine Connolly) Thank you to
volunteers, especially Jenny Anderson who have helped monitor the drop off/pick
up these last couple weeks. Please remember that children are to exit curbside,
parents are to stay in the car when they drop off/pick up. This helps to keep
everyone safe and keep the flow of traffic moving. Please pull up to the
crosswalk; 1st three cars are to let their kids out and then pull away, allowing the
next 3 cars to pull up. Perhaps will have crossing guards not only after school,
but also in the morning? When at school for field trips, please park in the church
lot across the street. ! Gift Wrap: (Shauna Mignone) Sales began 9/11 and will
run through 9/25. “Who Let the Dogs Out?!” is our theme this year. We hope to
raise $20,000 for the PTO this year. This is our only fundraiser and we ask that
you participate in our fundraiser. Packets are due back in school 9/25. !
Partners in Art: (Camie Christensen) A fun program where parents go into their
child’s classroom and teach an art class. Curriculum and props are provided.
Two classes are offered to teach volunteers what they need to know. No
experience is needed! Usually 1class/month. 9/30 and 10/2 are the training
sessions. Contact Camie if you are interested in participating in this program.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED! camie.christensen@gmail.com
! Sock Hop:
(Vera Spanowsky) The Sock Hop is going to be on Friday, 10/24/14 from 79pm. If you are interested in volunteering for this event, contact Vera Spanowsky
at vspanowsky@gmail.com. This will be a very fun event, with poodle skirts,
dancing, jumpers and games; 50’s and 80’s join together for a new twist! Please
join us for our annual fall event. ! District Liason: (Camie Christensen) This is a
group of people (usually 1 person/ school) who meet once a month to help keep
clear communications amongst the schools. Watch your e-news for upcoming
parenting classes that the district is providing. ! Favorite Things: (Kristin Dohm)
There will be a binder in the office called “Our Faculties Favorite Things”. This
can be used as a reference for parents buying gifts and appreciation ideas for the
teachers.
