The IBPA Mission and Membership Form
The International Baccalaureate Parents association supports the hard work of students of South
Forsyth High School IB program, their teachers, and their school by providing:

A forum for sharing information and ideas about the International Baccalaureate Program
and its participants.

Financial support for academic enhancement programs, materials, and instructors.

Social opportunities for students, parents, and teachers to interact and share their
experiences in pursuit of the high academic excellence that is the cornerstone of the IB program.
Including IB fall retreat, mentoring, and Spring Senior Banquet

Volunteer support of the IB program components.
Your IB Parent Association dues enable the IBPA to help support academic enhancement
programs for the school, defray expenses for IB team-building retreat and social expenses, and provide
other needed support to the South Forsyth High School IB Program.
How to Join:
Dues for the 2009-2010 school year are $25.00, payable to “SFHS IB Parent Association.”
Please include your student’s name on the check.
Thank you for supporting the students, teachers, and SFHS in the “Pursuit of Academic
Excellence” in the IB Program.
We also utilize an email distribution list for notification if important meetings and events. We
must have your permission to include you and your information on these lists. Therefore please

Picture this….
Cabins nestled in the woods, spectacular views, team building, ropes course, paintball,
group games, campfires, and rafting down what often has been described as the roller
coaster of the southeast – The Ocoee River.
Come join fellow Junior and Senior IBers in an opportunity to become acquainted and
experience what being part of this very special group is all about. This is a time for
students and IB teachers to set goals and expectations for the coming year.
Safety precautions will be followed and safety equipment will be used for all special
activities such as rafting, paintball and ropes course.
Students are not permitted to drive their own cars to Ocoee camp. We will travel
together by bus.
When: Saturday, September 26 – Sunday, September 27, 2009
Time: Leave SFHS 7:00 AM on Saturday and return to SFHS 5 PM Sunday. Travel will
be on school busses.

Cost is $125-150. estimate Per student. More information soon.
Return money, completed permission slip, copy of insurance card, waivers and release
forms by Monday, September 14th. Make sure you return a release form for each
activity. Students may choose to do 2 activities on Saturday this year. So you will have a
waiver for Whitewater Rafting. And choose 1 or 2 of the following Mountain Biking,
Ropes course, Paintball or Horseback Riding.

Bring a sack breakfast/snack for Saturday, September 26th. You may bring money for
snacks and drinks.
This will be a memorable and fun experience. We look forward to seeing you at the
retreat.
