DURKAN HOSPITALITY FEATURED IN MOHAWK GROUP

CHICAGO, IL (June 15, 2015) Mohawk Group, a leading commercial flooring company known for

NeoCon 2015. This year, Durkan reveals three new collections, Existence, Lakir and award-winning
Modesto, all of which are featured at the company’s Merchandise Mart showroom, space 3-377. Held
annually in Chicago, NeoCon is North America’s largest three-day design exposition and conference for
commercial interiors.

Durkan, the hospitality brand of Mohawk Group, presents a comprehensive collection of flooring
products for the hospitality market including broadloom, carpet tile, hardwood, luxury vinyl tile and rugs.
The brand’s new innovative collections span across a variety of flooring categories that provide solutions
for every part of the hospitality environment including lobbies, corridors, meeting spaces, guest rooms,

Collection Descriptions
Existence, a collection of 18 natural world inspired patterns, is bound together by a singular color family,
dark coal tones through blue tinted greys capped with glacier whites and sparkling with crystal tone
accents. A study of life in layers, complex cellular structures bound through a chorus of gently flowing
over textures, in layers independently unique but in symphony the mechanics of existence. For maximum
flexibility, Existence’s bold patterns are available in Definity, a proprietary technology that layers pattern
and texture together for incomparable depth and richness. The collection’s durable backing options are
customizable to meet the needs of any hospitality application – from frequented lobbies to quiet hallways.
The Existence Collection features a Declare label. Declare serves as an ingredients label listing all the
materials in the product, allowing the manufacturer to work with customers to strive for healthier product
choices. The Existence Collection is Red List free.
Lakir is a compilation inspired by the simplicity of lines, delicately rendered in muted blues, frosted
grays, washed wheat and a cast of dusted contrast. Carved accents sculpt each rendered form, bridged
with plateaus of plush feathered pile and crowned with dense scalloped ribbing. Lakir’s recreated lines,
textures and layers give any luxurious space a handcrafted feel. Featuring a precision sculpted effect,
Lakir’s 15 patterns explore and emphasize many technical capabilities exclusive to Durkan’s Definity
manufacturing technology, which replicates the durability and look of Axminster as it has never been
done before. Definity produces textural effects and stunning large-scale patterns more economically than
Axminster and less manufacturing time. Lakir is made with Colorstrand® fiber, which features
unsurpassed colorfastness to light, atmospheric contaminants and harsh cleaning agents.
Lakir’s
broadloom offerings are backed by WeldLok, which is ideal for high performance environments that
require excellent tuft retention properties. The Lakir Collection is Red List free.
Modesto Collection For the first time, Durkan offers an encompassing collection of hospitality products
that serve the flooring needs for guest room and public spaces. Modesto’s guest room product offerings
feature 12 color ways and 12 designs, two of which are running line patterns and 10 styles are offered
with a low 250-yard minimum.
The comprehensive selection of guest room patterns is simple,
sophisticated and elegant, offering an eclectic mix of geometric and organic patterning. Its color palette
offers a refreshing mix: dark, steely greys, oak browns, summery yellows and creamy cotton tones.
Modesto has the added benefit of public space patterns all of which coordinate with the guest room
patterns. These styles are manufactured using Durkan’s new Definity precision sculpted technology,
which explores and emphasizes dimensional effects. Definity replicates the durability and look of
Axminster as it has never been done. Modesto’s large-scale patterns designed for public space incorporate
dark yet neutral tones such as black and grey, nutty brown and brass, harvest gold and frost combinations.
Modesto features ribbons of texture both broad and intimate that have artistic hand-drawn characteristics.
