Full National Response Supervision will be heading the response. Responses will no longer be managed at a Regional level. o Lots of changes since Hurricane Sandy (Sandy Recovery Improvement Programs) – Tribal nations can now ask for declaration of emergency; more Public Relations/ Assistance to disaster survivors. o Policy changes coming soon as a result of Sandy Recovery Improvement Programs o Bruce Kinney retiring 9/7 – looking for a suitable replacement o Regional Interagency Steering Committee meeting 10/28-29 2013 at GA Tech Conference Center o January 2014 FEMA will lose lots of people – retirements DOI o FUD database has been transferred to GIS based system NOAA o Inland SCAT Training for Fall 2013? o Webinar Training for PR in September 2013 o Science of Oils Spills training – 4x a year; 2 in Seattle and 2 elsewhere. Next year one of those locations may be Mobile.
