Dear Sir / Madam,
Crossland and Dudson Training deliver a range of family learning courses in East Sussex
on behalf of East Sussex County Council. Family learning encourages parents and children
to learn together. Courses are designed to help families share a positive and fun learning
experience and help parents and carers develop skills and knowledge to support their
child’s learning and development.
The broad range of courses offered by Crossland and Dudson Training means that there
are programmes available for families with children of all ages. The course being delivered
determines whether the sessions are attended by parents and carers or whether children
also attend. For example, our Keeping Up with Children courses are specifically designed to
develop the basic literacy and numeracy skills of parents so that they are better equipped to
support their child’s learning. Meanwhile, our Puppet Making Workshops are attended by
parents/ carers and children and encourage adults and children to learn together.
Our courses are delivered by qualified teachers and are either run from our centre in
Upperton Road, Eastbourne or from various venues across the county. The fact that they
are funded by East Sussex County Council means that they are usually free to the
organisation requesting the course and Crossland and Dudson Training supply the
resources needed to deliver the sessions. All our courses are delivered by qualified
teachers, have clear learning objectives and outcomes and include a variety of teaching
and learning activities. To ensure our learners get as much from our courses as possible,
we are happy to liaise with an organisation prior to a course being placed in order to
discuss the course content and adapt and change it if necessary. Similarly, the length and
number of sessions can be determined by the organisation requesting the course.
More information about the individual courses Crossland and Dudson Training offer is
included below. Please feel free to contact me on 01323 720072 if you would like to book a
course for your organisation of if you require further information.
Kind regards,
Victoria Brady
