Seeking Molecular/Cellular Biologist
System Biosciences (SBI) is a growing reagent biotechnology company located in Mountain View,
California. SBI is a unique provider of high technology tools to study MicroRNAs, Exosomes, Genome
engineering, and Stem cells for the life science research field. SBI is looking for a highly organized and
energetic Molecular/Cellular PhD Biologist to join our growing company.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a well-trained and innovative Molecular/Cellular Biologist to assist in new product
development with an emphasis in the field of small RNAs, exosomes and transgenic vector technologies.
Tissue culture experience is essential and hands-on experience with lentivectors is highly desired. Some
projects may include the development of new vector technologies for transgenesis, methods for
monitoring microvesicles and developing product lines to study microRNAs. Having experience in
generating next-generation sequencing libraries a plus (Illumina, Ion Torrent, etc.). The candidate will be
responsible to work as a team for new product development at all levels, including developing, testing,
validation and manufacturing. Product support duties may also include marketing collateral preparation,
customer contact and technical support.
Qualifications Include:
• PhD degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting after graduation (postdoc or industry).
• Hands on experience with reagent product development in industry setting desired.
• Highly organized and motivated individual required with excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with RNA amplification techniques.
• Experience with NGS library preparation and qPCR methods.
• Experience in high-throughput cloning techniques.
• Good computer-related skills, editing of manuals and spreadsheets preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate good judgment and professional conduct.
