Principal RFIC/SOI Design Engineer - Santa Clara

In this impactful role, the candidate will lead the development of SOI and/or Si chips in cellular RF front-end and PA
products. Candidates will participate in all phase of the development, including product definition, architecture, system,
transistor-level circuit design, layout/layout supervision, top level simulations, silicon debug and production test
support.
Requirements
 MSEE and 10 years or PhD and 6 years experience preferred for this role
 Direct experience in SOI RF switches a strong plus
 Hands-on experience in analog/RFIC circuit design
 Solid understanding of RF circuit requirements including noise, linearity, bandwidth and loop stability, both small
signal and large signal
 Hands-on experience with both time and frequency domain circuit simulation using SpectreRF/GoldenGate/ADS
 Good understanding of basic microwave/RF concepts such as s-parameters and smith chart
 Experience with ADS Momentum and HFSS is a plus
 Solid understanding of device and process technologies
 Use of CAD tools from top level simulations to parasitic extraction
 Lab skills in silicon debug and product characterization
 Layout experience and good layout practice, both high frequency and high precision
 A self starter and team player with strong desire to continue to learn on the job
 Strong desire and commitment to take product from concept to volume production
Good communication skills both verbal and written
RF Design Engineer – Santa Clara

Skyworks design center in Silicon Valley has multiple openings for engineering talent with expertise in RF/microwave,
RFIC and analog circuit design, and PA product development.
The successful candidate will be part of a multi-discipline team developing PA, RF switches, front-end modules for the
high volume and fast paced cellular handset market. Candidates will have opportunities to participate in all phases of
product development, including product definition, architecture, system, transistor-level circuit design, MCM design,
layout/layout supervision, lab debug and production support.
Requirements
 Relevant experience in PA, RF switches design or multi-chip module (MCM) design including filter and matching
networks to support fully integrated front end module designs
 Hands on experience in MCM artwork, EM simulation and lab debug and tuning
 Strong circuit simulation skills utilizing Agilent ADS/GoldenGate/spectreRF and 2.5/3D EM tools such as
Momentum, Sonnet or HFSS








Solid understanding of RF concepts such as impedance matching, impedance transformation, distributed
systems, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, bandwidth and stability
Solid understanding of device and process technologies
Good understanding of RF systems and familiarity with cellular standards
Strong lab skills in RF debug and product characterization

extremely fast paced and highly competitive cellular handset market. The candidate will provide technical leadership in
all phases of the product development, including product definition, architecture, system, transistor-level circuit design,
MCM design, layout/layout supervision, lab debug and production support.
Requirements
 Proven leadership in RF product execution and design innovation
 Strong experience in PA, RF switches design, multi-chip module (MCM) and RF front end design and product
development
 Strong RF fundamentals such as impedance matching, distributed systems, passive RLC and resonant circuits,
noise, linearity, bandwidth and stability
 Strong circuit simulation skills utilizing Agilent ADS/GoldenGate/spectreRF and 2.5/3D EM tools such as
Momentum or HFSS
 Experience on RF switch and/or RFIC/analog circuit design highly desirable
 Strong problem solving and lab debugging skills. Hands on experience in RF tuning and using RF instruments.

Staff RF Test and Validation Engineer

This is a principal RF validation engineer position in the R&D environment. The candidate is expected to bring in deep
experience in testing, tuning and optimization of RF front end modules and power amplifier products. The candidate will
tackle difficult RF testing problems and bridge the gap between device testing and meeting system requirements. The
candidate will drive testing efficiency and accuracy to expedite product development cycle. The candidate is expected to
provide technical guidance and mentorship to the junior members of the team’






MS Degree preferred and 6+ years of experience measuring, tuning, optimizing RF IC’s
Strong fundamental in RF system, PA and RF front end, RF switches, filters and modulations
Direct experience in GSM/EDGE/WCDMA/LTE and front end system and familiarity with cellular standards
Detailed understanding of TDD/FDD, various waveforms, and the implications on bandwidth, and PAR, etc.
Strong expertise in using RF instruments including signal generators, PSA, VNA, oscilloscope, power meters and
load pull tuners
Strong attention to detail, meticulous documentation standards, strong written and verbal communication skills,
and ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment is mandatory
