They will look at the work of Patrick Caulfield to design their ideal bedroom. Students will look at colour theory and how colour can affect your mood Assessment Focus: o o o Accuracy of drawing in one point perspective Understanding of Patrick Caulfield’s work Understanding of colour theory Students are to design an A2 outcome of an exotic/carnivorous plant using mark-making in the style of artists studied and will use colour to convey mood. Students will spend Spring 1 looking at Jean – Michel Basquiat, Vincent Van Gogh and Georges Seurat. They will also learn how to draw from observation. Assessment Focus: o o o Observational drawing plants Accuracy of design idea Understanding of Jean- Michel Basquiat’s, Vincent Van Gogh’s and Georges Seurat’s artwork. Students will spend Summer 1 looking at Leonardo Da Vinci and his inventions. They will reference the film the ‘Terminator’ and consider if Leonardo Da Vinci was alive today would be ‘ahead of the game’ and investigating artificial intelligence? Assessment Focus: o o o Observational drawing of a hand Observational drawing of a hand with microchips drawn into it as if skin pulled back ‘terminator’ style Understanding of Leonardo Da Vinci and his inventions Half Term Autumn 2 Half Term Spring 2 Half Term Summer 2 Unit Focus: Perspective drawing skills Unit Focus: Drawing and painting. Students will spend Autumn 2 completing their A2 final piece. Students will add a surreal element into their bedroom design. Students will paint their bedroom in watercolour Students will spend spring 2 making their A2 outcome of an exotic/carnivorous plant using mark-making in the style of the artists studied and will use colour to convey mood. Unit Focus: Observational drawing and understanding of pattern. Assessment Focus: Assessment Focus: o o o Accuracy of drawing furniture in one point perspective Accuracy of using watercolour to paint bedroom design Attention to detail in bedroom design o o o Accuracy of different artist techniques Accuracy of plant drawing Use of detail, texture and tone. Students will spend Summer 2 completing their final hand drawing. They will show the contrast between old and new technology by distressing the background of their final piece using tea. They will use foil and embossing techniques in their hand for the microchips as a contrast to the old. Students will put their own codes about themselves into their artwork Assessment Focus: o o o o o Use of pattern Observational drawing of hand.
