With extensive leadership and change management experience from the Federal Government of Canada, Royal Bank, Terasen Gas, and Best Buy Canada, Lisa brings a practical approach to her consulting and coaching work with leaders across a range of industries. She is the current President of the BC Organizational Development Network, a Certified Human Resources Professional, and the 2012 BC Human Resources Management Association Conference Chair. Danae Johnson is a dedicated Certified Executive Coach (CEC) with over 15 years experience in human resource leadership and business management. She is the owner of Thinking Partners, a consulting and coaching practice committed to improving the quality of life for individuals and organizations through coaching and strategic human resource planning. Over the past decade, Danae has maintained her commitment to life-long learning, completing courses from various educational institutions in conflict resolution, mediation, negotiation, facilitation, behavioral interviewing, salary administration, employment law, mediation and development of healthy workplaces and organizations. For over a decade, Danae has worked to develop a diverse group of leaders and management professionals in a world-leading resort and real estate development company. She has coached leaders at the executive level and facilitated leadership courses for management at all levels. Danae has utilized her management and leadership expertise, coaching experience, a degree in Communications and her proven track record as a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) in creating business improvement, strategic change and leadership development in both the profit and non-profit sectors. Danae also volunteers as a coach with the Minerva Foundation and is an active member of the Vancouver Chapter of the International Coach Federation (ICF). Joy Illington, Victoria, British Columbia Ms. Illington was appointed to the Canadian Blood Services Board of Directors as the regional representative for BC/ Yukon. Joy was the first independent Merit Commissioner, selected in 2006 by an all party committee of the Legislature of BC. Joy spent 18 years in the B.C. Public Service — the last seven as a deputy minister. She has a proven record of oversight as the Chair of the Medical Services Commission and was responsible for audits of the $2.4 billion annual budget. She is an expert in administrative and procedural fairness, founded on her experience as an investigator in the Ombudsman’s Office and as a lawyer in private practice. Joy was Assistant Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs where she was responsible for province-wide mandates for land claims negotiations. In 1998 she joined Cabinet Operations, where she served four Premiers and their Cabinets as Deputy Cabinet Secretary. In 2005, Joy was awarded the Lieutenant Governor’s Silver Medal, which recognizes the exceptional achievement of a person who has shown distinctive leadership in public administration in British Columbia. David Morhart David Morhart has been with the BC Public Service since May 1990 after spending three years with the federal public service. He was appointed Public Security Commissioner and Deputy Solicitor General in February 2009. Prior to this, he served as Deputy Solicitor General and Deputy Minister of Public Safety since June 2005. He has also served as the CEO of the British Columbia Ambulance Service (2004-2005), Assistant Deputy Minister of Provincial Treasury (2001-2004) and as the Executive Financial Officer (2003) responsible for four ministries. David was born and raised in Saskatchewan and holds an MBA and Bachelor of Commerce degrees. Among David’s many career achievements, he is being celebrated for his leadership as: Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Government-Non-Profit Initiative (GNPI) – GNPI is the first initiative of its kind in Canada and internationally, and is being used as a model for collaboration in other jurisdictions. David has played an instrumental role in leading the GNPI initiative over the past three years. Provincial Co-Chair of the Security Committee for the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games – The overall security effort for the Games was the largest ever seen in Canada. David was the provincial government’s lead on the development of the security strategy, and played a key role in the negotiation of funding arrangements and partnership agreements. Change Agent – David has been an active, progressive change agent on many organizational initiatives in government, including enhancing emergency first responder capacity and training, involvement in the restructuring of two major Crown corporations, and leading a significant change to the financial and regulatory oversight of the auto insurance business. Dave Douglas Dave Douglas is the author of “Leading the Way,” a unique book written exclusively for Generation Y (teenagers and young adults) to help them discover and build their leadership skills. Dave is a champion for helping today’s youth turn into tomorrow’s leaders. Dave is an accomplished speaker/presenter with over 40 year’s experience in senior leadership positions in both the public and private sectors. Dave has worked with youth in various leadership roles for many years designing, developing, and presenting leadership programs and camps. He works with Rotary sponsored programs such as RYLA (26 years), Interact, Rotaract and Youth Exchange. He has also worked with Scouting Canada as Cub and Scout Master, District Cub Master and Regional Trainer; and with secondary schools in presenting talks and weekend camps on leadership. Dave lives in Victoria in the winter months and summers on Kootenay Lake near Nelson, B.C. Leading the Way is Dave’s third published book. Ingrid Bergmann, BA CHRP Executive, Leadership and Career Coaching A highly respected Certified Executive Coach (Royal Roads University 2002) specializing in career exploration and transition issues as well as Leadership and Executive Development, Ingrid helps her clients make positive career choices that reflect their vision, values, talents, abilities and life goals. She supports each person as they discover more about how they like to work and opens possibilities that can lead to courageous decisions regarding fulfilling career, promotion and development options. Ingrid helped lead the way in the creation of a Narrative 360 process, which supports the collection of invaluable developmental feedback. She is passionate in her belief that the right kind of work and the right environment exist for all of us if we play to our strengths. Organizational Leadership Prior to her current role, Ingrid led the Vancouver Island office of a large international HR Consulting firm that specialized in Career Transition and Talent Management. Ingrid has also held Director and VP level positions with the Manitoba Civil Service Commission in Winnipeg, the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology in Saskatoon and Camosun College in Victoria where she provided strategic HR, labour relations and organization development advice and guidance. Her experience also includes expertise in compensation and classification, employee wellness and policy development. She has held responsibility for leading and developing all aspects of the human resources function. Education and Training Ingrid holds a Bachelor of Arts in Administrative Studies, an Advanced Certificate in Human Resource Management and Certificates in Mediation/Conflict Resolution, Labour Relations and a variety of assessment tools including Birkman, Lumina, Insights, and MBTI. She is an active member of the Vancouver Island Chapter of the British Columbia Human Resource Management Association (BCHRMA) and the Vancouver Island Coaches Association (VICA). She is a Certified Human Resource Practitioner (CHRP), she has been granted the PCC (Professional Certified Coach) designation by the International Coach Federation and she is a Certified Meditation Instructor through the Chopra Centre. Dana Hayden, Deputy Minister –Ministry of Forests and Range Dana Hayden was appointed Deputy Minister, Ministry of Forests and Range on June 1, 2009. Ms. Hayden has held a number of executive roles in government including Deputy Minister Public Safety; Deputy Minister Strategic Policy, Office of the Premier; Deputy Minister and CEO of the Crown Agencies Secretariat; and, President and CEO of the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. Ms. Hayden began her career in the provincial government in 1986 and has worked on public policy and operational challenges in a broad range of ministries, crown agencies and in government’s central agencies. Ms. Hayden has a B.Sc. in Forest Science, a M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics and the Canadian Securities Course diploma. In 2007 and 2009 Ms. Hayden received the “Canada’s Most Powerful Women – Top 100” award. Ms. Hayden has two teenage sons.
