
NO REPORT
Graduate Programs Committee: (Chair, Kirk Mathias)

NO REPORT
Candidate Admissions, Recruitment, and Retention Committee: (Chair Designee, Crystal Weddington)

Current report shows 142 students with GPA’s falling below 3.0, and needing to be reviewed.

There are quite a few students who are making it pretty close to graduation, without declaring a Major.
75% of our Education students are transfers. They miss the blocks that we have on campus, in their
freshman and sophomore year, in order for them to have to declare. The Program Coordinators will be
asked to develop recommendations on how to ensure that students who are going through programs
have actually declared the program, as a Major. Until they do that, there is data out in SAFARI that we
don’t pull on these students, because they are not identified as Education, due to not having declared an
Education Major.
Diversity and Equity Committee: (Co-chair, Bobby Cummings)

January 25th is the next committee meeting.

Tribal Sovereignty training will take place on January 11th, room 114 beginning at 10AM

Field Experience Office: (Director, Gary Ballou)

Gary is looking at aligning the TPEP with his evaluation tools, for consistency.

Thorp is interested in taking more student teachers

Beginning this quarter the Field Experience office will be having convocations, once a quarter, so that
those who are planning to do any student teaching next year, at any point, any quarter, will be fully
aware of the expectations.

Created a quarter calendar for all Field Supervisors

Working with LiveText help desk to provide a required LiveText seminar at the Centers.

Center Site Directors are now included in emails sent to Field Supervisors

Field Supervisors are now required to cross-check their rosters between STAD, LiveText, and SAFARI

Mid-term evaluation data points will now be entered in LiveText beginning this quarter

Gary is reviewing with the Field Supervisors the University’s mission statement and the College of
Education and Professional Studies mission statement.

Field Supervisor meetings are now held twice a month, on a regular basis.

Working with Dan Matthews and the CDMS, with great success.

Working with Judi Robinette, from the Fingerprinting office, to create an email that goes out from the
Field Experience office, when a student is a “no show” for a scheduled fingerprinting appointment.

Gary created a flier for the Field Supervisors to give to their teachers, that discusses, outlines, and
details, all the on-line courses that our certificated teachers out in the field can take, that we offer at
CWU. This is a way to offer them either credits or clock hours, and a way to connect with CWU.

Washington State teacher of the Year, Jeff Charbonneau, is looking forward to speaking regularly with
the student teachers

