BIOGRAPHIE
Many have dreamed the dream of the complete artist. With her latest album ”ÓĐUR“ Arndis
Halla is living these dream. Iceland’s celebrated Opera star is a wanderer between worlds.
Classic and Pop, Muse and Entertainer, Past and Future: For Arndis Halla they are no contradictions, rather important waypoints of a great voice on the path to her roots of self discovery.
In life everything has its importance, sometimes it takes a while. However, sooner or later the circle is completed. Arndis Halla is the best evidence of this yet. For example: the horses. Even as a child she loved these four-legged creatures. Today, Arndis Halla is t he voice of Europe’s most successful horse show, “Apassionata,” The unprecedented star of a highly acclaimed
Arena production, enjoyed by over 2 million spectators up to now.
Another example is the music. As a teenager Arndis Halla sang in rock band. She took lessons three times before chucking it in. “I wasn’t grown up enough”. At 19 she finally took it seriously, studying the whole range; Pop, Jazz, but the Classics won her over. Arndis Halla made the move to Berlin. During her studies at the University of the Arts, she was engaged as a soloist in the Comic Opera by the great Harry Kupfer. The Soprano was making her way; Operas,
Concerts, song evenings, Weimar, Prague, Seoul and of course, Iceland.
Through the work on “Apassionata” this musical mosaic has been fused together with Arndis
Halla’s own personality, creating an impressive integrated figure. Together with Edwin
Schimscheiner she created the song “Edda”, currently one of the high-points of the show; The extravagance of the Opera, the melancholy of her homeland, the drive of modern sounds.
Together a unique sounding style emerges, a kind of ‘fairy magic’ of the musical world. edel entertainment GmbH Neumühlen 17 22763 Hamburg

BIOGRAPHIE
“After that, the rest followed,” says Arndis Halla talking about the songs from her new album
“ÓĐUR”. The title can be traced back to the word “hymn”. They are the odes of a classically trained extraordinary talent on her way to her true roots. Pavarotti, Robbie Williams, Whitney
Houston, even Deep Purple… Arndis Halla admires them all, however her heart remains true to the music of Iceland. “The music of my homeland is a little bit more subdued,” says Anrdis Halla,
“you can hear the wind in the Quintets and the sound of “ÓĐUR” clearly reflects the true nature of the island and its Fjords, Geisers and Volcanoes: Cold, a little dangerous, but above all - beautiful.”
With “ÓĐUR” Arndis Halla closes the gap between Björk, Enya and Lucia Popp; moving, light, mythical, out of this world. Sometimes it takes a little time for new things to come, but when they have progressed so far , there is no turning round. It’s at this point that dreams become a reality.
For Arndis Halla, that moment is now, with “ÓĐUR” as the key to setting this highly promising voice free to perform at its best. No wonder, when she has been guided by the famous symbol of heavenly kings; her name translated in to English means Eagle.
