The overall idea is that you start with a dumpy, dirty city, and you will start recycling programs that will improve your city. Determine what combination of programs will cause the greatest effect for the least cost. Take notes: -211 tons overall waste -Home Recycling= 12.48 tons of paper and cardboard collected -Business Recycling= 15.6 tons of paper and cardboard collected 16) What combination of programs did you use? Check the bar graph, how many tons of paper and cardboard did you end up with? How much did it cost? -Home recycling, business recycling, pay as you throw, and drop-off recycling center. Total cost= $186k. 40 tons of paper and cardboard 17) Now try to reduce the overall waste in the city. You cannot spend more than $200,000. Try different combinations of programs to determine which combinations will get you the most benefits for your money. Which combinations of programs did you use? What was the total waste recovered? How much did it cost? -I used all of the programs except drop-off recycling center. My home recycling pickup program was upgraded, and my total cost came out to be $200k flat. There was a total of 100 tons of waste recovered.
