MUSIC NOTICES
 Gaelic Choir Monday - Wednesday at 1.30 pm
 No English choir next week. See you after the
holidays for Christmas Music!!
 Traditional School of Music lessons start after the
holidays
 All pupils who signed up for pipe band drumming
lessons must attend a meeting in Mrs Gages room
(PAD2 - Music) on Monday at interval

Duke of Edinburgh Award
Reminder for all pupils doing their D of E Award
Training starts this Monday 5 October
Meet at 4 pm in the canteen
Creative Writing Group will be having a meeting at
lunchtime on Tuesday in Mr Stringer's Room to discuss
moving the date/time of the Creative Writing meetings.
R C Flight Club
The club will not be meeting on Tuesday 6 October, but
will be on again starting Tuesday 27 October at lunchtime
in the Games hall.
KIDS’ LIT QUIZ
Quiz Club is starting on WEDNESDAY LUNCHTIMES
(feel free to being your lunch) in Miss McIntosh’s room (E4)
for pupils who want to part in the Kids’ Lit Quiz.
The Kids’ Lit Quiz is an international competition
that celebrates reading!
You must be aged between 11 – 13 to take part in the competition.
Gymnastics Squad
Please bring £15 for squad t-shirts asap if you haven’t done so already.

School final on Thursday 8 October
Are you interested in fashion or design?
Would you like to be involved in a local Fashion and Textiles
festival?
Fasanta is a local festival of textiles and fashion which is taking
place in the Corran Halls on Friday 6 November.
There will be lots of events over the weekend you can sign up
to, but the organisers have asked if any pupils would be
interested in entering the fashion show as models.
If you would like more information - please ask
Mrs MacDonald (Fingal Depute).
SCHOOL SHOW
 Rehearsals 'Oliver' are on Mondays after school in PAD3 with
Miss Forrest and Mr Martin.
 New members who would like to join the chorus are very
welcome to come along.
 We are particularly looking for junior boys to play street
urchins and pickpockets!
BADMINTON
Badminton has started back on Mondays after school
3.45 pm - 4.45 pm.
All year groups and abilities welcome.
School Badminton Competition will be held before Christmas
and Argyll and Bute Championships are held in January.
DANCE
 After school dance programmes have started in preparation
for the Dance Show in January.
 Times and areas are on display outside the dance studio.
 Pupils can go to as many dance classes during the week as
they wish.
 The more classes you attend the more dances you will be in.
Girls’ basketball (S1-S6) is on a Monday.
Any level of experience /skill welcome!

 Our weekly meetings have now begun after school every
Wednesday in Mr Dott's room in the Technical Department.
 Please let Miss Forrest or Miss Brown know in advance if you
cannot attend a meeting.
Scrabble Club
Library on Thursdays 3.40 - 4.30 pm
All year groups welcome
Volleyball
 Volleyball has started on a Thursday 4.00 – 5.30 pm
in the Games Hall.
 There are coaches coming in to help run the club and
anyone is welcome.
 No experience needed!
Monday’s Dance Group for years S1 – S3 is now on a Thursday in the
gymnastics hall with Beth Menzies, Bronwen Davies, Jade Dowell and
Morven MacFadyen-Donald.
Guitar Club - Friday 1.20 pm in Mr Robertson's room (PAD 4)

Come and learn how to play or improve your existing skills
Debating Club is on a Friday at 1.15 pm in E4.
All year groups welcome.
 Assisi Animal Welfare group will be meeting in
Mrs Huddlestone's room at lunchtime every Friday.
 Come along and discuss ways of raising awareness and
fundraising for animal charities both in the UK and overseas.
 We will discuss topics ranging from greyhound racing to
bullfighting and testing products on animals.
 Anyone with a love of animals is welcome.
Computer Free Fridays
PCs will be switched off Fridays at lunch time in the Library

FREESTYLE FRIDAY IS ON AT ATLANTIS LEISURE ON
FRIDAY NIGHT FROM 7.30 - 9.30 PM
FOR S1 AND S2 PUPILS ONLY - THE COST IS £3.20
Girl’s Shinty will be on Fridays after school from 4-5 pm.
Any equipment needed will be provided for you.
All ages and levels of experience welcome!
HOMEWORK
Remember the library is open until 4.30 pm
All year groups are welcome to come and do homework.
Reminder
Everyone must have their cashless catering card for service in the
canteen and no money will be taken at the tills.
Students born between 1 March 1996 and 29 February 2000 MAY be eligible for an
EMA, depending on eligibility criteria, and an information flyer has been posted to
your home address.
EMA application packs are now available for students who wish to apply for
session 2015-2016 and these can be obtained from the school office, Argyll
House, all Area Offices and the Council web site. All completed application forms
are to be returned to EMA Section Argyll House, Dunoon PA23 8AJ.
